If incase you have 5 hrs layover before your next trip, don't worry about it. Time goes fast actually. I had 4 hrs waiting at Newark Airport but with all the walking from the time i arrived there and going to the next waiting lounge, 4 hrs was just enough for me. Was able to rest and refresh, call my fiance and ate. You can't go out from the airport. And also, we bought out ticket from vayama.com.

I just take my laptop and watch some Hulu on the layover... wifi is a great thing for layovers... always pack a few DVDS just in case there is no wifi...

We found the best rates on Cheapoair.com this year, but since ticket prices change so frequently it takes a lot of searching to get the best price. If you do a search on VJ there have been a couple recent posts with great suggestions on finding tickets here in the Phil forum

I flew on Eva Air before when they were still using 747-400 COMBI,,,the service wasn't that great. Now they are using brand new 777 from TPE-SFO. Maybe the service has change. No issue at all in Taipei. You can shop around at both Airport Terminals. Never flew on Hawaiian Airlines but i heard they are still on a 2 (70lbs) free luggage. So you have a connecting flight from San Francisco to Sacramento?
