I just found out about Kilmeade's "oops" today.

I am just happy there are Americans who think Swedes are pure.

So what percent of Sweden or Finland population are say black or Asian?

There are not that many blacks though we had a large influx of Somalian refugees during the 90s. Asian women are very popular among the male population though.

According to Wikipedia:

"As of 2008, the total population of Sweden was estimated to be 9,234,209.[97] "

"The largest immigrant groups living in Sweden as of 2008 consists of people born in Finland (175 113), Iraq (109 446), Former Yugoslavia (72 285), Poland (63 822), Iran (57 663), Bosnia and Herzegovina (55 960), Denmark (44 310), Norway (44310), Chile (28 118), Thailand (25 858), Somalia (25 159) and Lebanon (23 291). In the last decade most immigrants have come from Iraq, Poland, Thailand, Somalia and China.[100]" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden#Demographics

Fox News seems to have a 'wealth' of crazy experts . . .

It has long been known for anyone with even a very basic awareness of genetics that crossbreeding produces hybred vigor where the offspring of mixed parentage is almost (although there are exceptions) always superior to either parent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterosis

Hmm, maybe that is the problem with the Fox News 'expert's - they come from the shallow end of the gene pool.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Dumb@ss didn't get the memo that homogenized populations tend to suffer greater frequencies of plenty of genetic-linked diseases.

I am just grateful for the illustration of what the Fox News audience is really all about.

Awe AJ, why do you hate Americans so much?

:wow:

What I don't understand is why peeps hold every single Republican/Democrat responsible for what every other Republican/Democrat says. Yes, there are basic principles that each 'group' basically share some form of similar thinking...however, it is all along the spectrum...and it's not like anyone here should be reading off the 'Republican/Democrat belief sheet' to memorize party lines.

This is just twaddle here....he doesn't speak for me....

VJ OT should be a good example of this. Libruls this, conservatives that. Lots of misplaced outrage based on defective groupthink. I wish there was a post sorter by political stance, so we could characterize how many morons generalize from the extremes.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

It should be pointed out this LINK is referring to domesticated animals.

<<<Heterosis is the opposite of inbreeding depression, which occurs with increasing homozygosity. The term often causes controversy, particularly in terms of the selective breeding of domestic animals, because it is sometimes believed that all crossbred plants or animals are genetically superior to their parents; this is true only in certain circumstances: when a hybrid is seen to be superior to its parents, this is known as hybrid vigor.>>>

At any rate to be clear, no Real breeder would pair his Prized Shepard with a Poodle and think the results will be desirable.

This article I believe is referring to mixing different strains of say the same breed chicken or horse etc.

Putting a Quarter horse and Belgium together would have no purpose as it would doubtfully be as fast or as strong as it's parents.

Domesticated animals are actually manipulated genes and traits and have little bearing on human or even wild animals.

Perhaps someone with a background in this field can speak better to it.

You select for the traits you desire Danno. This is called artificial selection.

That's very true. You breed for what you need.

Danno brought up a quarter horse/belgian cross as a possible example. In reality, drafts crossbred with lighter saddle breeds are quite popular. You get horses that are big and powerful but have the better movement and agility of the smaller breeds.

Real love stories never have endings...
