what point? that i don't believe a kid when he tells me someone said something when the kid is pissed off?...you'll just have to take my word on that one.

No kidding... until I saw the video, I had an image of proto-street-gang type teens. They just appear to be decent, ordinary kids, whose only "offense" is they happen to be black. And neither the article nor the video have any suggestion that the kids were behaving badly.

Unfortunately I could not play the vid on this story.

But I still find it hard to believe any business in this day and age would approach a group of black Children and say what was claimed.

"The pool attendants came and told the black children that they did not allow minorities in the club and needed the children to leave immediately."

At minimum it would seem this pool (club) should be sued for not only the money paid out, but for pulling the carpet out from under these kids at the last minute, it may be hard to find another club to take a large group this late in the season.

Don't get me wrong... kids will be kids and pool behavior isn't exactly peachy... but come on man... this one really reeks of the R word coming from the pool people.

different article than what i read in a philly forum this morning. in the earlier article it was not so blatantly spelled out. it really may not be so blatant. if you know anything about philly, you know the street kids are aggressive, nasty, and vulgar, no matter what color. could be they bashed the place and intimidated the locals (monkey county is whitebread and pricey), and are playing the race card to set up a lawsuit.

either way, my tax dollars pay for public pools for city kids, and day care programs, and lunches for them, and the grant they paid to the private club, and the busses they took there. would have been easier if they had just used their own pools that the city alread has.

nobody likes it when some kid pees in the pool.
