Which is it... CR-1 or IR-1 ???

I did not see CR-1 or IR-1 are in the VisaJoureny FAQ Appendix/Definition list.

However, I have "poked around" enough to believe that "CR-1" stands for "conditional residency".

But what does IR-1 stand for, "Immigrant Resident"?

Also... the VJ Link / Forum Heading "IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa General Discussion" implies that the terms are used interchangeably...

I just don't want to get my Visa process delayed, rejected, or RFE'd because I put down "IR-1" when I should have said "CR-1"... :no:

Looking4Wife,

CR-1 means immigrant spouse of a US citizen, conditional.

IR-1 means immigrant spouse of a US citizen.

Note that PRs who adjusted from a non-immigrant status, such as K1 and K3, do not become CR1 or IR1 immigrants.

IR-1 = Immigrant Spouse of a US citizen. In that case, the couple is married for more than 2 years. IR-1 Visa means when the immigrant arrives at the USA, he/she will be given a permanent green card.

CR-1 = Immigrant Spouse of a US citizen, conditional. In this case, the couple is married for less than 2 years. CR-1 visa means, the immigrant will be given a conditional green card upon US entry. The couple must jointly file to remove the conditional status prior to two year's anniversary.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
