Just thought that I would share with you my experience of applying for my SSN.

Went to local Social Security office in Albany, Georgia today and was told I will receive the card by mail in 7-10 days.

The lady at the SS office was extremely nice and told me that if I needed my SSN as a matter of urgency I could go back tomorrow and she would be able to issue me with a printout of my number which I could use until the card arrives. I said that as I had waited this long another few days wouldn't hurt.

It was a very straight forward process. I took the EAD card and the letter that it was attached to the EAD, my birth certificate and passport. (I did have marriage certificate and other documents but she didnt want to see them she just asked to see the birth certificate).

Anyways, just thought I would share with you. :D

08/15/08 I-751 submitted to VSC

10/01/08 Biometrics completed

03/02/09 Case transferred to CSC

04/04/2009 Received approval letter

03/31/2009 Date of Decision

05/01/2009 Card production ordered

05/07/2009 Received card

Glad you had a good experience at the SSA office. A lot of people don't because the employees don't seem to know the rules.

You can expect your card very soon.

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony
