received email regarding I-485

Hi , We return our RFE on June 12th (regarding affidavit of support), never got a notice from USCIS if they received our RFE. Then on June 29th EAD was Aprroved, July 2nd noitice recieved case transfer to CSC. Today we recieved the following email:

Current Status:

On July 5, 2006, we received this case back from the Administrative Appeals Office. If any further action is appropriate, we will notify you when it is taken.

Does this mean it was sent back from CSC to where it came from? Where is the Administrative Appeals Office. Its is the Chicago office where we returned our RFE.

Confuse and Concern!!!! Any one have similar situation?

often times, cases are transferred to the california service center under the impression that an in person interview is not required. The application is physically xferred to CSC. CSC reviews the case and realizes that an interview IS needed, so they transfer the case back to the local USCIS office that has jurisdiction over where you live. After the application is received at the local office, you are scheduled for an in-person interview.

Sounds like you've fallen into this scenario...next step is to just sit tight for the next 30 days and wait for more information from USCIS. If you dont hear in 30 days, i'd make an infopass appointment at the closest USCIS office.
