We went tot the interview yesterday and it was easier than I thought. We gave our form sand the interviewer was very nice. he said they just need a little more information about when my fiance was arrested for using a false passport a few years back. The arrest was not shown on his police record and we are not even sure he was charged with anything. We are told depending on the information they receive...they will make the decision. The interviewer sounded optimistic, and said it will probably not count aainst my fiance, they just need to make sure there are no problems. We called my fiance's lawyer, but he is not returning or calls. i will have to return to the US for work on Sunday so it looks like it will take a bit longer...but at least we know we are so close.

Things there are still very bad. Alot of people are still suffereing but my fiance is optimistic that things will start to get better soon. The people are getting tired and most iraqis just want to live in peace. His interview was here in Madrid because he has Spanish residency. His family is still back in Iraq though, and we are dreaming of the day when we can vacation there and see his family.
