Why is it that when a woman is a victim of domestic abuse, everyone is appauled, but when it's a man, people tend to laugh ?

Sometimes it's not always easy to leave. Could be lots of circumstances involved, we don't know. This man needs prayer.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Sometimes it's not always easy to leave.

Here's 50 ways to leave your lover. . .

The problem is all inside your head", she said to me

The answer is easy if you take it logically

I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free

There must be fifty ways to leave your lover

She said it's really not my habit to intrude

Furthermore, I hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued

But I'll repeat myself, at the risk of being crude

There must be fifty ways to leave your lover

Fifty ways to leave your lover

You just slip out the back, Jack

Make a new plan, Stan

You don't need to be coy, Roy

Just get yourself free

Hop on the bus, Gus

You don't need to discuss much

Just drop off the key, Lee

And get yourself free

Ooo slip out the back, Jack

Make a new plan, Stan

You don't need to be coy, Roy

Just listen to me

Hop on the bus, Gus

You don't need to discuss much

Just drop off the key, Lee

And get yourself free

She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain

I wish there was something I could do to make you smile again

I said I appreciate that and would you please explain

About the fifty ways

She said why don't we both just sleep on it tonight

And I believe in the morning you'll begin to see the light

And then she kissed me and I realized she probably was right

There must be fifty ways to leave your lover

Fifty ways to leave your lover

You just slip out the back, Jack

My ex wife liked to beat me up, just let her pound away, then call the cops and had a restraining order put on her. She would do this with no good reason, yeah, one little punch from me, could have knocked her across the room, a hard punch, could have killed her, but then I would be in deep sh!t. So why does this guy put up with it? Does he like it?

Ironically, my now precious wife, thanks to immigration was also physically abused by her ex, would like to meet him someday and see how he does against a man.

Hint, people that abuse others are out of their fvcking minds.

Waiting for this thread to turn into another one of those "This would never happen if you just married a woman from _________________"

Both people in this relationship are USC's.

Sorry to hear that panamania. You can always refer your coworker to one of the multiple places where they provide services to abuse victims (F)

When I try to suggest something,he becomes very defensive.

That is beside the point I was making. I could easily make a sock puppet account and say "Well, this sort of thing wouldn't happen if you married a pinay. They are so much more caring. blah blah blah".

Most of the abuse centers are specifically for women. It's emasculating enough to be an abuse victim, then to go to a battered women's shelter I imagine is a bit much for a man.

Brother Rob - there are programs for male victims of abuse. The shelter I volunteer at has a couple of male clients.

I've seen a few near where I live and have literature here where I work that we give out to people. All of the domenstic violence shelters say in some form or fashion that it is geared towards women. I know for a fact that they do help men, but that doesn't change the appearance of it for someone going through something like this.

I wonder what is it in someones life that makes this kinda relationship ... tolerable?

I've never been in a hitting relationship and if my wife or GF started this #######.... I might let it slide once if it were a one time slip but if it happened again I would walk.

Would I hit her back? I might pop her one if she hit me in the face but either way, I cant put up with crazy Sh_t like that in a relationship and as I said, it's a mystery how people do... unless they grew up with it.

If the guy takes the abuse and stays in the situation it says that his self esteem isn't very good. Perhaps he thinks that he can't do better and deep down holds himself responsible for her behavior.

They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Sounds like this guy is in need of a good counsellor.
