Waiting without knowing is hard. We were stuck in AR last year due to Documment Verification from Feb 6th till April. The worst part is we paid for the Doc Verification on January 6th. Because of other delays with the USCIS and Department of State my wife and I did not see each other for over a year. Hang in there, the process demands patience.

The OpP asked what is AP and AR. Here is an explanation:

Administrative Review: Is when your case is being looked at more closely for accuracy and to make sure all security name and fingerprint checks have cleared and your visa can be adjudicated.

Administrative Processing: Means once you have interviewed it is in security checks for any of these situations: you have had a name hit in one of the many data bases, background checks for fraud, or has missing and incomplete information that must be submitted and the rechecked. Processing is more in depth and than the review process and there is no time limit for this processing to complete. Administrative processing can last a few days or months and in some cases it has endured for years.

Just called DOS and about the same answer, no specifics

Try calling the direct line to the Embassy and speak with the caseworker handling your files. Just search the number here. There has been several threads about it before.

I have been calling the Embassy, once a week and also emailing. This is the # I have been calling (011-632) 301-2000 ext. 5184 or 5185. If you have another # or advice please share with me. This is a very frustrating time, because I do not know why we are in AP. We had all of the documents, we have been in our relationship since 2007, we did not meet on line (not that there is anything wrong with meeting online), I have been to the Philippines many times, with my son, all documents were as current as we could possibly get. I have even filled a FOIA form to try and get answers. Next is congressman/senator. Thanks for responding

I know it can really be frustrating.

The number you have is also the same one that my husband used before..ext 5184 or 5185 or 0 and try to ask for someone who can specifically give you the explanation. I am speaking from our experience. Tahoma called the Embassy several times that when he asked for Grace/Lorraine, they actually recognized his voice immediately and were very helpful to him when we had a problem with our visa.

They know that we had complied with all the requirements and my husband reiterated that it is their fault that they lost our financial documents.

The visa process can really stretch one's patience. For now, just hang in there and tell your fiancee to enjoy her remaining months in Philippines.
