N-400 application rejected.. Help with fees

The application was rejected because the OP checked two boxes instead of one for eligibility by mistake. I don't think their objective was to have the case rejected or denied. I think they just made a mistake.

OP really didn't provide complete details so speculation does result. In the trades, have a saying, do it right, do it once, but someone contradicted by another phrase, never given the time to do it right the first time, but plenty of time to do it right the second. This is particularly true if you company was hit by a lawsuit. Here, you have the time, like three years.

I did read when I first started all this six years ago, any omissions or errors can result in rejection of your application resulting in the forfeiture of your fees. Led me to find a good immigration attorney, as beside the forfeiture, can also expect severe delays. Was suprised to reread the N-400 that if your application is rejected, they will return your check. Now why wasn't that done with the OP? Can only speculate as to why, I don't care for speculation.
