I-864 form PART 5 - Sponsor's household size

Its says there that don't count anyone twice. In the form part 5, the petitioner is being ask a number of how many person he is sponsoring. My husband is sponsoring me. So that means, He will put 1 on that box for me. However, in letter C.

C. "If you are currently married, put 1 for your spouse". if he will put 1 again for me, so this means that I WILL BE COUNTED TWICE. This is driving us nuts.

Any thoughts on this guys? Thank you!

In item 21 it asks you to put the number of immigrants you are sponsoring. He will put one in that box. In part 5 © it says to list your spouse if you are married. That is the only person you are sponsoring so you put the number 1 for the final household size unless you are sponsoring any children. We had the number 1 in both boxes but only counted my spouse once. So the final number of sponsored immigrants was 1.

Thank you for that response. However, I was still in darkness since I am trying to consider the example form here in VJ.

it says in the item H, to add all the numbers, resulting to be the household size. So If my husband will put 1 on B and C , that will be 3 in all. ( A. (me) B. (him) C. (me again).

That is correct but when you put the final number for the IMMIGRANTS that are being sponsored in the total household you only count YOU even though you put the numbers in the boxes. The form also has a section where he includes himself in part b where the instruction say " People not being sponsored" so you dont count him. You will only count " YOU" in part c even though you list your self in A and C. That is why the instructions say to only count a person once.

"Don't count anyone twice" is the key.
