Yayayayayay! Not long to wait until you can start celebrating! When will you get married?

Since my interview is Tuesday, I am doing all my final prep - printing a few more emails and phone bills, far more evidence than we will ever need, lol. I'm going to pay my visa fee tomorrow too and get my envelope. I will be putting that darn little receipt somewhere safe! This weekend I am headed up to the Sunshine Coast to see some friends, hopefully some beach time and a few quiet drinks will keep me calm!

ladies - what did you all wear to your interview? when I had my student visa interview, I dressed as if I was going to a job interview, but I was shocked to see people roll up in trackies and ripped jeans

Yay .. congrats!! You'll have another VJ member there for support. I knew I'd come back from my trip and you'd all have visas ... :crying:

I'm sure you'll get yours soon enough. It has been almost 6 months since we got NOA1. If only our file hadn't been MIA for 2 months it would have been a lot quicker.

I know, I can't wait to get that visa and then we can start making travel plans. :) Hopefully I'll leave here early to mid January and we'll most likely get married within a month of me arriving. We don't have a particular date set yet.

How many emails are you printing out to take with you? I've printed about 10...do you think that's enough?

I'm interested to know what the ladies wore to their interviews too. I wasn't going to wear anything too dressy like a work or job interview outfit. I was most likely going to wear a nice summer dress I've got (goes just above the knee) with a 3/4 sleeve cardigan. It's not real casual, I guess you would call it smart casual. Is smart casual appropriate or something more dressy like a pencil skirt, blouse and pumps?

You know.. I don't even know what I wore :S I personally think smart casual is fine. Ooo now I remember 'cause I fell I remember the shoes :P I wore black dress pants, a smart casual tshirt/blouse and nice shoes.

I am sort of of the opinion that what you wear is how serious you are about it. When i did my visitor visa interview I saw a girl in a dirty hoodie, dirty jeans that hung too low... and to be honest I couldn't help but think that she wasn't taking it very seriously. However if you're too dressy it seems a bit too try-hard.. lol. I think the MOST impt thing to wear is a smile. I know that sounds stupid but if you looked worried they will wonder WHY so worried. Heck even though I had EVERY intention of arriving to my K1 interview looking perfect, I arrived with a slightly bruised and swollen jaw, and over an hour late and yet they were STILL nice to me :D

Don't dress as if you're going out for the night, go as if it is a job interview where first impressions count. Ultimately the paperwork is what matters, but I can't help but worry that they judge me on looks too so I try just that little bit harder.

Good luck to everyone with interviews coming up and congrats too!

Saw my GP today, getting a blood test for MMR & Hep B also checking for diabetes & my cholesterol (family history) while I'm there. We've also done a general query on immunity so that should show up that I've had all my immunisations :)

Nice way to find a work around!

Do they charge in NSW? I received a bill for $177 from Qld Pathology. Would have been nice for my GP to let me know this before hand!

I didn't have to pay for mine at QML Pathology. It was all bulk billed.

They're technically not supposed to bulk bill for lab work / x-rays done that are ordered for immigration purposes. If you got away with it then you're lucky.. but it's not the norm

first interview (to submit our I-130 since we did DCF) I wore jeans and a crewneck sweater and a hoodie - pretty casual

second interview (actual visa interview) I wore black dress pants and a nicer top

I "passed" both times... so yeah.. it doesnt matter what you wear :P

I've got about 10 or so email 'strands' that I am bringing with me...amounts to about 20 pages or so. they are over the last six months so they show a good range of stuff.

I'm thinking of dressing nicely but I'm not going too over the top. High waisted skirt, plain white tshirt, and a cardigan. Something I am comfortable in but still look well presented.

Simon, I sent my P3 last Friday, they received it Monday and I didn't get notification of my interview date until Wednesday. Maybe you might get P4 on Monday if you are lucky.

Yeah I agree, you want to look respectable but not like you are trying too hard to impress them so smart casual dress it is. Besides I'm going to be a tourist the rest of the day so I don't want to have to change my outfit into something more comfy.

Good luck for those who have upcoming interviews :)

We got our NOA1 today and they have cashed the cheque -- so I was super happy to wake up to that news. Now it is just a waiting game and I am hoping that someone puts a huge box load of patience under the tree for me lol
