Hoolala Rachel !!! Wooooh!!!

That is so great, and that is only in 19 days! Oh my god, will you be ready? ;)

More seriously, the interview stage is really painless for us lucky european people.

So don't streeeeeeeeessssss!!!!!! :dead:

The night before I went, in my bed I reviewed my documents in my head like 235262465745 times, even in my dreams...

Then again, I reviewed them in the bus... and the next day, after the interview, I thought, hmmm where were the paystubs...?

Guess what...? My monkey forgot to send me the copy of his paystubs!!! o_O

He made another "mistake" on his affidavit (the 3rd version already) which I'm too ashamed to tell.

Still, it went very well! I guess, Tax transcripts and employer letter were enough already. Since the lady told me "Oh that's more than enough documents".

Will you leave the UK as soon as you get the visa or do you have some things to manage before leaving? :)

Victor's interview was December 30th. He went without his police paper from Peru, because it became lost in the mail. He brought an old copy from right before he moved to Spain 2+ years ago, and the Spanish one. Thankfully they told him just to get the Peru police paper as soon as possible. His sister was obtaining another copy to send when the first one arrived in Spain (nearly 2 months later). Hopefully within the next couple of weeks he will finally have visa in hand!

Good morning family! We are getting married on the 22nd of January!!! It will only be a small ceremony held in a chapel on a military airforce base. Unfortunately there will be nobody to attend since both our families are far away from here and there's no time to bring them all. But it's ok. I have arranged with the priest to have the laptop with us and broadcast the ceremony online so all our loved ones could see us. :-)

We got our wedding rings a few days ago. For some reason (maybe because we had to do it so fast) I don't feel like I am getting married. It feels more like completing a task. hehehe On the other hand it may be that we already feel like we are married to each other since we spent so many years together.

Well, I wish everyone all the best and to those still waiting for approvals may your journey be as smooth as ours was.

Hugs and kisses to everybody,

Ileana

Hello Ileana,

You're not the only one to feel this way.

I think it's the visa process that steals the "getting married" feeling. Being able to get the visa is more important than the marriage itself, as without the visa we're not able to get married...

Two years of a long distance relationships have sucked our savings dry so we really don't have extra money for any reception. Plus my monkey and me don't really have familly, we're rootless people. Though our friends insist on making a little one for us :)

I got my visa in hand last week, but I'm not done with the moving organisation at all. I wish I could also just pack two suitcases... But it's way more complicated for me. And I certainly don't have the time or the energy to organize a real wedding reception anyway.

And to be fully honest, I don't really care, all I want is to be able to start a new life with my monkey, getting married is just one task in the process like you said.

Maybe later, we'll do another ceremony, like vows renewal or something, which will have more meaning to us.

Well, maybe it's just personnal, I never dreamt of a big wedding and a long white dress... It's not my thing. :)

Congratz to you Simon & Janet! I try not to think too much about AOS yet.... :x

Good morning my french sister! :-) As you said the only thing that really matters is that you will be together. That's how we feel too. Adjusting is complicated but with lots of love and understanding you'll get through that as well. I am here already a month now and for some reason it still feels temporary, like soon I will have to pack my things and leave again. But I know that's because this is what we've done for the last 6 and a half years. Always on the run. Being here for good feels almost surreal.

Iam sure that our wedding will be more beautiful than if we had to plan it for months. :-) And yours will be too. After all it's the feeling that matters, right?

We don't think about AOS right now either. One step at the time. I guess we are both very tired from going through the K1 process.

Congratulations Simon and Janet!!! You are almost there now! :-) I am so happy for you!

Hugs and kisses to all,

Ileana

This is my dream... To not always carry that horrible feeling that it's temporary and soon I'll have to leave. I'm really wondering how I'll "feel" this. :)

Hello folks,

Kitty that is great news... Trust me a small wedding will be just fine. My dad wants me to get married in a Church “Catholic" even though my baby is Orthodox, yet because he never got the church divorce i must stick to being married in court.

My baby does not like me to wear a long dress, and I had been through 2 weddings arrangement for my brother and sister, I feel buying a nice short white dress would be just fine. I already had my eye on one at the Saks fifth which I am trying to find here in Chicago.

It is been a stressful time for us, we finally were able to get the Amman embassy to say that the file is with them, yet we don't have packet 3. We are getting everything together because information is on the embassy website. The embassy said they will contact him or me when they schedule interview. This does not sound promising.

Since 3 days my baby started to have a red rash “hives" which is coming at night, but this morning he had it again, we checked everything he is eating and wearing, yet he believes it is only stress from sitting here without a Job. He had this almost 10 years ago when he was waiting for his Canadian citizen and it just went away.

I really don't know what to do to make it goes easy for him because I am getting on his nerve as well..

I just want to close my eyes and wake up sitting at embassy office listening for him being interviewed.

Congrats to Simon and Janet on the approval...

Good luck to all. Off to being slaved at work
