Hi everyone!

I've been a member of this site since june, and a lurker here even longer and I can't believe I haven't seen this thread until now! So nice to meet other people who are in the same boat as Wade and myself. We filed july 15, and our timeline says we might get our NOA2 between october 16-20. It sounds incredible fast, so we're hoping the estimation is correct. It's such a drawnout process, so lets hope for a smooth journey for all of us july 09 filers :D

Kristin

Hi and welcome. The reason your date is earlier than ours is becuase you filed at California. We're all with Vermont, which is a little behind California. Good luck to you. Hope it comes soon!

I just wondered... how is everyone getting on? Its a bit quiet on this thread lately compared to the July California Filers thread... Anything to report? Any touches? My estimated date has been lingering around November 20th at the earliest. We're almost at the end of September so not too long to go. Fingers are still crossed.

I'm feeling a bit low today. I'm here in NJ with my beloved fiance (I've been here for almost three months over the summer). On 22nd of this month I am due to go home to the UK. I looked on my calendar this morning and its exactly two weeks today. This trip has been the first whereby we've been thrown into a 'real life' situation for the first time. In previous trips, he was self employed and worked only a few hours a week so we had plenty of time together doing things... But this year, he's started a new job (for the puposes of meeting the poverty line) which has kept us apart for 40 hours a week over the three months. Public transport is few and far between here so I have been in the apartment for most of the time on my own and subsequently I have occassionally taken it out on Russ. I just feel bad now, because reading other peoples posts today on VJ, some people are not as lucky as us to spend as much time together. One couple hadnt even seen each other in 17 months. I dont know how I would get through that!

I'm just going to miss him so much and we won't be reunited until Christmas when he comes back to England. Any words of encouragement people...?? How do we get through this?

Dear Rachel,

Just be strong! We all need to be strong! you shouldnt be nervous, and angry on Russ.. Just think how lucky you are to spent three months with him.. Even if you are whole day apart, the fact that you are sitting in your apartment for almost whole day is maybe hard.. But just think of that, for example, I would be so lucky if I could see my fiance when he comes from the job.. or that I could wake up with him sleeping next to me every morning! I havent see my love for six months.. Ohh I miss him so much, and I wont be able to see him until I with Gods help receive a visa!

So be strong, PATIENT.. be happy.. Live, love, laugh! Enjoy your precious time with him! You dont know how lucky you are!

Well as everyone on this forum can confirm it is not easy to stay apart every single day. But I think the most important thing is to stay focused on your goal! I mean just imagine how happy you are going to be in several months and from there you will be together forever and ever.

Me and Sara see each other approx. every 6 months. Since I lefft US in March 2008 we have met 3 times (2-3 weeks most). The bright side of this horrible situation is that both of us are very busy right now at our jobs (she's a 3rd grade teacher and I work as a Logistics Anaylst). Also time zones do not help us out to talk to each other but we manage to find some time everyday.

I am not sure when I see her next time. We are thinking about Christmas but considering the flight prices we better save up money for the wedding which is planned for June 20th.

This means we get together after NOA2 and Embassy processes (April-May of next year). Sucks but We are see the Goal!!!

I think you are going to be OK if you won't see your fiance just for few months. It's only 3 months! Stay positive and think about this time you are going to spend together again.

Good luck to you!!!!

Robert

Bah... My monkey was supposed to come for a two weeks visit next month but we have to call it.

I am so mad we have to cancel this trip... I feel it's so unfair. We probably won't see each other again before I really move there...

Christmas is usually a no go because of the price of plane tickets. Thought last year, I managed to grab a cheap ticket on December 25th, it was fun to fly with Santa! :)

This week end, he was at a wedding. I feel super lonely and left out here... And on the top of that, there's a huge water pipe leak in my building... -_-

So yeah, fun times...

I believe you can always get a good deal on December 25th. That's when few people travel. A couple of years ago I got a cheap ticket to Europe on the 25th too.

Aja is visiting next month. I hope she will be allowed in. There's no reason she won't, but you never know.

I LOVED travelling on December 25th! Everybody at the airport was nicer than usual, everything went much faster. And there was extra chocolates in the plane!

And special deals at the duty free shops!

Oh as a nice rememberance, last time I went to the US, in July, I got upgraded to business class. Gee, when the air hostess told me I almost cried. That was so magic. Best trip ever. The big seats and the nice food make it so different!

I'm sure your fiancée will be able to get in the USA with no worry. Everybody makes it a big deal, many people ask, but I never see anyone being refused. Last time I went to yhe USA, I actually asked the POE agent if it would be possible, he told me there's no problem if you have a return ticket. He was actually surprised I asked...

I think the only troubles she could get is if the stay time is close to the maximum allowed, 90 days. then they become inquisitive.

I remember making this post last year.

Don't panic - I know it's hard to think about what life is going to be when you have to go back to England without him. I used to get the nauseous feeling too. But you WILL get through it. The first couple of weeks will be the hardest of course, but you'll soon get back to business... carrying on with your life over there until the time comes (only 90 days or so) when you can see him again.

Try crossing off each day on the calender - in fact sometimes I would 'forget' for a few days so I could have the pleasure of crossing off half a week!

Everything is going to be fine.

Also, don't feel too guilty about taking stress out on him. It's hard to try and live a normal life when you know at the back of your mind that there is a giant ticking clock. Just focus on the goods.
