The border crossing was odd.....they did not seem to know what they were doing. The 2 doing it had not done a K1 before. They charged me $6 each to put a paper in my passport so I could cross and come back ( I think that is wrong). I had to keep correcting them on everything. The one lady was saying K1 was for married couples only and I corrected her but she did not believe me until another officer told her that I was right. It was really weird and I hope they did not screw anything up.

*November 13 2006 - Greencard arrived...yeah I can work!

*January 2007 - RFE for kids Greencard.

*February 2007 - kids medical and sent in RFE

*February 2007 - Received kids greencards

Yup, same with me, though they didnt charge me 6 bucks (thats dumb), plus, you are not allowed to cross and come back, you dont have a K3.... silly people.

They had to pull out the manual and do it step by step, it seemed i knew more than they did as i had to say corrections as well. It was a sad sight to see actually...

I crossed at North Portal , from Regina Sask. I did not have to pay any 6 dollars there, also they were not to sure on what to do , but they did get out a manual and followed that, everything for me turned out fine, my package ended up in Chicago where it was suppose to go..

Congrats on getting to the US. I had the same experience at the POE in Houlton Maine. I kept praying they didn't screw it up. But apparently all is well because I was in the system when I went for the SSN # yesterday. Boy was I relieved since the officer first had our local office as Alaska and not Atlanta, he really had me questioning his ability and where my paperwork would eventually end up.
