My fiance has an interview on July 24 in which I plan to attend with her. They say 7 to 10 days to deliver the Visa by courier. Because of the availabe air travel ...we will be leaveing EXACTLY 10 days after the interviw ..which is cutting it pretty close. Does anyone have any experience on asking the embassy to have the Visa there so the Fiancee can pick it up later?? and if so ..what is the typical wait? next day? 2 or 3? Thanks for any advice :D

I went to my fiance visa interview on May 22 and had flights for June 1, my CO told me when I ask that we could not pick it up unless we were leaving in 3-4 days after interview or medical emergency. Others have been able to pick it up after asking, so our conclusion around VJ is it is up to the discretion of the CO, you have to get the lucky one.

It was a challenge but we got lucky 5 days later we got text they had sent the visa from Air21 in Manila so we went to the Air21 hub in CEBU bright and early next morning and they dug it out of the pile they received overnight.

I hope you get the lucky CO cause it was 6 days of uncertainty that sucked.

Good Luck

I had my interview on a Thursday, got a text from Air 21 Monday, got my Visa on a Tuesday. It was stated in my visa that it was printed the next day. I think 3 to 5 days is the waiting time if ur fiancee resides in MANILA.

I am just curious if your fiancee already attended her CFO seminar because that will be another day after the visa is in her hands. Visa pick up is on the discretion of the CO. It's not all the time that the CO approves of a visa pick-up. Just a suggestion - maybe you can give spare days before you travel back to US. Good luck.

Thank you very much all for your replies, it helps me alot to make my planning decision. We plan for her to attend the CFO seminar before her Visa is issued. Now this brings me to another question.... if I have to extend there in the phils.. I know I need to go to an immigration office to pay the fee. My question is ....are there immigration offices in the airports there? Or do I have to find one in the major city there? Sorry my fiance doesnt know this answer either... just need some guidance on how to extend my stay there to make sure she has her Visa in hand before we leave. THanks again everyone!

Yes..There is an immigration office in the airport in Manila. I forgot to extend my stay beforehand so I just paid at the airports immigration office before I left.

IT'S NOT THE DESTINATION ITS THE JOURNEY...AND WHAT A JOURNEY IT HAS BEEN
