We found this site 4 months after filing for K1 visa for my fiance. We have now realize that we omitted a requested document. My fiance did not write an original statement of intent to marry. I want to know could this possibly delay our process or will we receive an RFE? Does anyone know the answer to this or have a similar situation?

You will likely get an RFE.. Have the letter ready to go the day that you get the RFE... Make sure its an original signed version not a copy... may cost you a few weeks...

Just to clarify because I wasn't sure if you knew this from your original post .. but you need a intent to marry from both of you, original signed and dated ... I have heard of cases getting by without this however... but I would have them both ready just in case you get a RFE

 This is so disheartening, but thanks for your response, I wish we had known about VJ before filing. This site has alot of information and the support from others is great.

I wish you and yours much success.

Yes, I see now that we were both required to submit a letter of intent, it so happens that I did write a letter explaining our reasoning for wanting to get married in the US, which I hope will be interpreted as such letter but if not I will have both letters ready as you suggested.

Thanks for your response

You may or may not get an RFE for this. If you do, it's an easy fix and any delay would probably be minimal.

It is suggested you have a new/updated pair of Letters of Intent for the Consulate/Embassy interview stage as well.

I hope we don't get an RFE, this process is stressful enough. Thanks for the advice for the Embassy level.

We need all the advice we can get.

i doubt you will get an RFE for this, USCIS only care if you've meet each other in person within two years before filing, just write one and bring it to the interview.
