Which dates do the immigration go by?

My question is which dates are the dates that the immigration go by from which the process was really started. My lawyer sent my fiancee I129F on May 11th and he sent it priority mail and they recieved it on May 16th. But my case was open at CSC on June 15th so which date is considered as th where the process really began?

They go by the date on your NOA1 whatever the date of receipt on that form is what they go by

so its May 16th that's when the post office said they received it because i never got a NOA1 neither did my lawyer . The first time i heard anything from them was on June 30th when they sent my lawyer my RFE.

No, the USCIS does not go by the date that the USPS said the petition was delivered. The USCIS goes by the date that the USCIS says the petition was received. There's a subtle but significant difference, and there may (or may not) be a day or two between the two dates.

From what you write in this 2nd post, you do not know what your petition Receipt Date is.

Yodrack is right, you have to look at the NOA1 form, that is your date of receipt.

Example, The post office delivered my I-129F package on 14 Mar.

However my NOA1 is dated 15 Mar, thus 15 mar is my date of receipt and the date that they go by.

wait, now I'm confused, the receipt date or the notice date? My NOA1 has a receipt date of June 7th, but the notice date is June 19th...so which one would it be?

My understanding is the receipt date listed on the NOA1.

The NOA1 could be typed and sent at later date but the receipt date listed on the form is the one to use.

The receipt/received date on your NOA1...not the Notice Date. The receipt/received date is also the date that is stamped on your petition after it arrives at the service center.
