Hello.

I got a yellow letter, telling me to bring a state id to my interview, but i havent gotten my interview appointment. Which comes first? Should i worry about my interview notice being lost in the mail?

Thanks,

ninthorange

No, I don't think it got lost. I've read somewhere that some people get first the yellow letter, then the IL or the other way around; the letters are mailed from different places. Some don't even receive yellow letters at all.

My feeling is you'll get the IL pretty soon. The presence of a yellow letter means somebody is working on your file.

So I guess it's a good sign. Good luck for the rest of your journey! :star:

I actually never received a yellow letter. I only took my Drivers License, new and old passports, and my GC. The interview letter states to bring those. I did forget to take my SS card, and I was hoping the IO wouldn't need it, but he eventually asked me for it. I told him I didn't bring it, and he asked if I knew the numbers. I said yes and he was ok with that.

Well, in any event, we had nothing to worry about. My wife came prepared with a binder full of documents, but the IO just asked to see her driver's license and green card. After reviewing the A file, he didn't ask for any additonal evidence.

My yellow letter came 3 weeks before I got my interview letter. My yellow letter asked me to do the same thing as yours.
