Thanks for all of the kind words and advice. I am getting ready to do some research here soon...some of you might get a pm from me.

Yes my husband is here with me now and he has a two year greencard. We are planning on coming back to the US as much as we need to be able to still file to remove conditions when the time comes.

Congrats on the decision Acrow. How will you qualify for 125% of poverty guidelines living in Jamaica for AOS? I'm curious because I had a friend that moved to Jamaica and she got a job...but ended up finding it very difficult to afford a plane ticket (and much of anything else beside bare essentials) to get back to the US. She ended up begging family to pay for her return ticket...last I heard she made another go of it in Jamaica...and is doing a lot better than her first attempt.

Well, our AOS has already been approved, we just need to remove conditions. I didnt see anything on the page about removing conditions that said I needed to submit any proof of income. Please let me know if I am mistaken.

Tickets back and forth will be hard, but we are saving money and putting some aside, and I plan on keeping an emergency fund of about $1000 US in my mother's care.

Anyway, the move isn't planned until November or December so I will have a little time to work out any kinks...

Hey Acrow, how are you, don't want to discourage you or anything. First, you husband has to be VERY/EXTREMELY careful how much time he spends out of the US once he has his greencard...second, and I'm sure you already know how the economy is back home. I know ya'll have a house, but ya'll also have a baby and while it may seem easy right know while you work out the kinks, please make sure you have a backup plan. I'm Jamaican and have moved home several times since the early 90s. While I was able to find work easily, it was still a lot of challenges along the way. Praying for the best for the three of you.

Not sure if you know the saying, but "money no las lang a yard" unless you have a lot of it and you keep on making money. I know people who've saved upwards of $20,000 thinking that would be enough to survive on in Jamaica and that was gone in no time, especially if you naw wurk...heck I would love to move home right now, but no way I would be able to make the money I'm making here in the states...

Lawny
