My fiance's SS card was issued and assigned, we even got a paper giving us the number, but the card was lost in the mail. When we went in to order a replacement, they wouldn't since his I-94 had just expired. :wacko: They said he has to wait until he gets his EAD or greencard. We wouldn't have been able to remedy the situation even if we went in before the I-94 had expired because manual verification took so long anyway and we were close to the 90 day mark anyway.

You have the number, that's all you need. The card is only useful for employment in most cases, which you won't do until you get his EAD anyway. You should be fine. No one but a potential employer should ask to see the actual card... except maybe the DMV? But OH won't give a DL until you have an EAD anyway... not sure about IL.

Not the best situation, but you can deal with that. You can still add to credit cards, get a bank account, pretty much anything.

Speaking of Ohio Drivers Licenses...What does my husband need to do to get one? He has a valid Turkish Drivers License - how long is he allowed to use that here in Ohio? I called highway patrol before he came here and they said as long as he has a valid visitor's visa, he could drive using his Turkish License. But - his I-94 is now expired, and we are waiting for EAD and Green Card. Do you know if he can still drive with his Turkish license? If not, when can he get an Ohio license / what does he need to do? He has a SSN.

There is a section in the OHIo BMV booklet about international licenses. I think they are valid for a year in the US but you should check first. My guy drove a scooter so he's starting from scratch here lol.

i know this is not the right forum to asked this question but maybe i can get answers from u guys..ive posts maybe twice for this question but i didnt get any answer..by the way im also july filers..

we moved in the new house..so when i send my AOS i already used our new address..

--so my question is, do i need to file the AR-11(aliens change of address)and I-865(sponsors change of address)..?

I asked the same question, I was told that if you start your AOS with a new address, then that is the address they will use and no need to file AR-11...only if you move mid AOS app, do you need to. I found this out after the fact, so I had already filed my AR-11...I also filed the I-865 which is change of address for petitioner.

You should be fine, but if your anything like me, you'll file it just to be safe...you can actually complete it on line at the USCIS.GOV website. I would ust wait for your NOA1 and see where it goes...or call to see what address they have on file.

thats the reason why im so paranoid right now..its been a week since i sent my AOS..i cant stop thinking what if they sent my NOA1 to our old address..but u know i still need to wait a couple weeks b4 they sent me my NOA1..

so ur right i should wait..i jst hope they sent it here in our new address..

July 25, 2009 - Did a walk-in for my biometrics. Done! Case status for I-130, I-765 show online

Aug 08, 2009 - Received Interview appointment letter in the mail, for Sept 08. Thank you Lord and Mother Mary!

Sept 04, 2009 - EAD card production ordered

Sept 08, 2009 - Interview!!! *approved pending new I-693: The civil surgeon left blank certain parts of my medical!

Had to go back to him and had him fill out a new I-693 form*

Sept 09, 2009 - Received email - card production ordered, yay!

Sept 10, 2009 - Received EAD card

Sept 17, 2009 - Received Greencard. Woohoo!!!

Phew, finally!

No Kidding :lol:

NOA1 rec'd today for I 130 I 485 and I 765 they were all issued on 16 July so things seem to be getting handled quite quickly at the moment :D

Now waiting for the biometrics appointment.
