AOS Filers - July 2009

I just filed yesterday...does anyone else get paranoid that you may have incorrectly messed up the Chicago address? I must have checked it 10X! Lol!

Now that I've passed the Consulate stage, I'm a little confused as to where to check for status updates. Is it the USCIS website? And what would be our file number? Do they send it to you with your NOA? And what dept is now dealing with our file? Is there a phone number we can call to confirm my address has been changed or receipt of our package?

as if we are in the same boat...until this time still waiting for the return receipt to sent me back,but nothing else arrive in about 6 working days from the day it was sent to USCIS,CHICAGO,IL?and i even try checking this link http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm but still nothing will show about my status,i sent my package through registered mail,with return receipt...keep praying and hoping we both can hear some good news from the USCIS...

im also paranoid about this thing..i cant track my mail..it shows nothing..

Hello all! Count me in! FINALLY mailed our package on the 10th and they received it on the 12th (I'm quite the procrastinator). Checks haven't been cashed yet though. I'm crossing my fingers that this won't be too long of a wait! Wishing everyone a speedy AOS!

i also sent my AOS same date as u..i dont know if they received it also on the 12th like urs..hope so..

by the way how did u find out that ur mail is already at chicago..?sori im jst paranoid..i havent heard anything from my mail yet thats why..

Quick question....

I always see people posting that they rec'd email notifications from USCIS for GC's etc....

Where do they get our email from? Is it on the AOS forms where it asked if we have an email to list it? Do they also mail notices or always email? Or some people just get lucky getting emails?

Just curious if I should be looking out for emails?

When you receive your NOAs you go to USCIS page and than to case status service online. You can create an account, where you add all your application numbers ( look on the NOA's they usually start with MSCand 10 digits). You have to enable E-mail receiving.

I used the USPS tracking service link provided in an earlier post in this thread.

You do not need an account you can track it from the link provided.

If you wish to do so you can set up an account so that it auto emails you and saves you from having to keep re entering the info and searching. You simply sit back and wait for the e mail to notify you.

how come i dont have a label number..?did i do something wrong in sending my mail..?

Did you send it via certified mail or did you get tracking for it? Check the receipt for a series of numbers on it. It should have a tracking number. It's usually 20 numbers.

I had set up a profile for tracking my case with USCIS a year ago. I can't remember my log in info for the life of me!

Am I able to set up another account with my husbands email and info? The file assoc to my account would have been my old NOA1 with an EAC#.... I never registered any other file number.

Let me understand this:

it goes to USCIS

then to Service Center

maybe local office for interview

ultimately approved by service center?
