Went to Bio this morning :D He asked about his wart and she said it would just look like a bump, not to worry. She took all the prints 3-4 times each, so the whole set 3-4 times, then each finger 3-4 times. She was really pleasant, made jokes and stuff, and she knew what she was doing. The receptionist however, is another story. He was beyond rude and impatient. And he asked to see hubby's social, which of course he didn't have on him, as you're not supposed to carry it, and nothing said to bring it! Anyway he thinks he just asked for it to confirm he wrote it down correctly, which of course he had. So anyway, our appt was at 9, we arrived at 8:20, left by 9. Pretty painless. Parking, however, was another story, I kept getting lost trying to get out of the garage, and when we finally got out it cost $3.50! Ugh! I really can't stand Cleveland. I want to go back to Tennessee!

When I got my fingerprints a couple years ago (I have a employment based AOS sitting around forever now), and had to wait 3 hours to get in, and I sat near the receptionist guy. The guy had to put up with so much ####### from people. I guess he just handled it better than the person you saw. This guy would constantly tell people, "Hey, I believe you that you are Jane Doe, but I still need to see the marriage certificate showing you used to be Jane Smith like it says in your passport. I don't make the rules, I just follow them." I would have lost my cool with a lot of people who gave the guy a hard time, but he should be given a medal or something... Sounds like the person you had should look for a different line of work ;)

Good point, I'm sure it's an awful job. I was just sitting there waiting thinking the same thing, maybe he should be working elsewhere :P

Cleveland is not so bad - you've just got to find a soft-spot in your heart for it. Easier for me as I'm a Cleveland-native. :)

$3.50 if pretty darn cheap. Come to Chicago, you'll pay about $20 for parking. Or if you use a meter, 25 cents per 15 minutes :P

Glad it went well! Hopefully we hear something soon. The I-485 was touched today again...hmm... :innocent:

Ok, update: I called this morning, as today was the 30-day mark of not receiving a Biometrics appointment. FYI to others who were asking - I referred to the date on the notice as them RECEIVING the file, which was July 12, not the NOA2 notice date, which was July 15. They didnt' seem to be picky about it. She just asked when did I send it in, so I said July 12.

Anyway, they took a lot of info down - Alien number, name, address, email addy, phone numbers where my hubby could be reached, etc. She said she was submitting a "Non-delivery of other notice" which would be sent to the "national" office and then they will look into it. She said to wait now 45 days before inquiring again, to give them time - but stressed that it may NOT take anywhere near 45 days, that's just a safeguard. She said we may hear something much sooner, possibly even by email, so be on the lookout. Then she gave me a really long confirmation number for this transaction.

A friend of mine had a missing biometrics and had to contact them at the 30 day mark and then she heard pretty quickly (within a week maybe?) from them.

I did mention that we were worried it got lost in the mail, but she indicated that an appointment hadn't been sent out. So I can't blame the mail. USCIS is just slow in this case. She also said this was going to hold everything up (EAD, GC production, etc), so this was important.

So that's the latest! Hope it helps everyone else who is wondering about their biometrics appointment whereabouts

:star:

i thought calling USCIS is prior to the date of receiving the NOA..?but anyway, thanks for the info..

im planing to call them nxt week on the 19th cuz i received my NOAs on 18th of July..but since u informed us calling prior to the date of sending the package i might call them tomorrow..

Thanks a lot..
