AOS Filers - July 2009

Hey all - Onur had his biometrics appointment today. It was relatively easy, other than the grouchy office-worker who yelled at us for being late after being directed to the wrong office and waiting there for 10 minutes until we were told we were in the wrong place!

For Clevelanders - we parked in the City Hall garage on Lakeside, just west of East 9th. It cost $2.25 for the hour (or less) that we were there. We entered the Federal Building from the back, (not the East 9th entrance). You'll have to go through a quick security check and show your I.D. The elevators are straight ahead of you after that and you take the elevator to the 12th floor. (Don't make the mistake we did and ask a security guard to direct you!) Make sure that you get into one of the elevators that goes to the 12th floor - the floor numbers that the elevators service are printed on the wall. I suggest getting there early - as we were late due to being in the wrong office and were not greeted kindly AT ALL. When you arrive you must fill out a form that or located against the wall with clipboards when you walk in. The appointment itself takes less than 10 minutes. Onur went in while I waited in the lobby, and came out in less than 10 minutes. The woman took his picture and fingerprints and that was it.

Hope this helps!

Oh my gosh Julia, thanks for the super helpful tips! We have to be there at 9 AM, ugh... I don't fancy dragging him out of bed at 7 AM when he's been sleeping late every day, what with no job and all... sigh.

Hey guys!

Just to let you know that I got my NOAs for AOS and EAD last Friday 31 and my biometrics appointment today!

One question, If I got my bio appointment, does that mean that my case will not be transferred and I will have to go through an interview?

Thanks!

Patricia

My understanding is that it has no bearing. Everyone has Bios

Familyguy is right, everyone does Bio.

I'm sorry  , I meant to say if I got my Bio appointment, does that mean that I will not be transferred? Or the transfers can also operate after you get your Bio appointment?

One more thing ... please bear with me ... has anybody tried to do a walk-in in Sacramento ASC? Thanks!

Besos,

Patricia

Bio appts are issued separately from the I-485 consideration, so when they arrive has no bearing on whether you get transferred or not. I've seen many people transferred both before and after receiving bio appt notices. My husband's case was transferred after we received our notice, and in fact I think many other people in the July submitters also were.

Edited to add: I just looked, all of us in July were transferred after we received our bio appt letters.

Oh well, I'm not sure what to say then, except I probably wouldn't worry about it, you can be sure it's definitely in CA! The date on the most recent email is still July 29th. That must be some sort of reassurance.... maybe?

Except for me....we were transferred first and still no Bio :P

Got my AP today! Not something I was eagerly waiting for, but at least it shows me that they are working on my case.

Wow congrats! Did you receive an e-mail first or you got it in your mail? I am asking, because we have pretty much the same timeline

Well, I only got it in the mail (2 copies of the AP - valid for one year). There wasn't a case number for AP, to track on USCIS website, so I don't know if they issue a MSC.......... case number for that. You just find it in the mail!

Good luck!

EAD was touched today! !I got all excited thinking I'd see an approval sometime today but I guess not!!

Crossing my fingers for next week!

It seems to be about 3 weeks - month after bio people start getting them.

I think I did my bio the earliest out of the July filers?
