You are preaching to the choir! I just keep telling myself "this is only temporary" to get me through it. I surely could not continue to live like this for long! We are barely making ends meet every month - even if he was working a minimum wage job, we would be MUCH better off. He feels like a house-husband, and I am the bread-winner...a position neither of us want to be in! Now, I wouldn't want it to be the reverse either - just want to both be contributing in all ways. Soon I hope!

That's EXACTLY how my husband feels! I enjoy having a house-husband to do the chores, but I'd rather have him earning ANY money to help make ends meet. We just spent most of our weekend figuring out how to stretch $200 to buy enough parts to make a new computer (we're technicians). We're using the euro he brought over as a supplement but that'll end soon enough if he doesn't get his EAD in September. :stressstressstress:

Well the good news is we are now in the on line system. The bad news is that it tells us there is an RFE on the I 485 :(

The letter was supposedly sent on Friday so I guess we will just have to wait and see what sort of idiotic mistake we made on the form :P

I swear you go word blind checking it 45 times and miss stupid stuff - oh well - time will tell.

hxxr - it seems it is just the way it is here, I don't know what else to say other than keep smiling. Anyone that goes through this without being a genuine couple are truly mentally ill

Wow, I'm sorry about the RFE, but you know, that means someone is actually looking at your case, so it can't be all bad!!! :star:

We should have our husbands meet! We are both in Cleveland, after-all! They could have someone to commiserate with...and someone to get together with while the wives are away at work! :)

We're on the near east side-where are you?

Olmsted, but I can bring him into work one day if they want to meet, I work at Case :) BTW, Karri's in Cleveland too, maybe we should get all three together, or the six of us could meet up for coffee one day!

From what I have seen, AOS can take anywhere from 3 months to 1 year. It seems like 3-6 months is the average, as long as everything goes smoothly. Best to start preparing the documents you need now so that you can apply right after you are married.

My Biometrics is the 18th.

Oh and I cheated - I got so excited when you told me about the kebab house we went there that night  Well it is like 4 years since I had one; and I have to say it was really good. It was a beautiful summers evening and they had tables outside so we could watch the world go by in the weird way that it always does on South Street. I highly recommend it.

The email is uscis-cris@dhs.gov

I've been trying to track twice a day every day, but I don't really expect anything until he does biometrics. At least if it is transferred we'll get a snail mail.
