You are really starting to annoy me. Your problem is not that you didn't get the information you sought. Your problem is you want fries with your burger...

Depends on where the fries come from. Most all of the fast food places can crank out a decent burger but MANY of them fail horribly with the fries...

The Alice in Wonderland avatar of yours is awesome to say the least...

How I wish I could have been the rabbit waiting for Alice at the bottom of the well! I would have definitely been looking up!!! She was a 'hottie' if there ever was one!!!

Seriously though, A 'good' woman would not cause her husband to have to go eat out at fast food places... She would glady hook him up with a proper lunch so as to help both the husband to stay properly fed and to help the family save money... :innocent:

LOLOLOL............

You must be one of those diplomatic sorts that likes to quiet the discussion by changing the subject!

JAS sock puppet?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I had been following that thread this morning and then had to leave for a while and.....WOW. I don't think anyone was overly aggressive, I too was confused about what being "saved" meant and I also felt a little frustrated about not really understanding what the underlying issues were. I don't think they have filed their K1 yet....at least I hope not. I believe a lot of the frustration - at least from me, and I didn't post anything - came from the fact that all of us here are waiting and waiting....or have waited and waited....and IF they had already filed and were now thinking about how to delay it.....then in my mind, the processing of that application, their place on Igor's list......maybe that's what is holding up the processing of mine or someone elses. I think that the answers provided to them were clear, concise and very helpful. I also didn't feel that the religious questions were out of line.....

I posted a few weeks ago about a sudden change in our own plans and asked some questions about Advance Parole, living in Africa, and what our options could be with a sudden job change. I was sick about everything and really felt like my visa journey had turned into a hot mess. I got some really good answers, I was asked questions, answered them, got challenged on some of the advice.....for a minute I thought the entire thing would get hijacked but all in all.....I was happy to get answers and encouragement to go forth and do more research on my own. I got what I needed, but it wasn't completely what I wanted to hear.

The one thing I have learned here.....if you hang out here enough and have a BIG problem that you want help with, you will wish for Rebecca Jo, BobbyUmit, Pushbrk.....I was wishing for you all to show up and "get aggressive"!!

No, Sorry to say but I would have REALLY liked to be the white rabbit just then (She WAS wearing a dress when she fell down the well dear...) and I also very seriously believe that if she had fixed him a proper lunch once in a while that she would NOT have had to chase him so much... Men are not very much unlike rabbits in the respect that we like to breed a lot and that we tend to stay close to our source of food...

I am just calling it like it is...

Well, on that note................

I feel as though I should clarify that reason for the WhiteRabbit in my avatar is not a reference to the novel, but rather from the Jefferson Airplane song of the same name (which of course is based on an acid-induced dream from the book - but I digress)......

WhiteRabbit is the name by which my DH first knew me when we met online. The White Rabbit as illustrated in the Lewis Carroll original publications (in his vest with pocketwatch) is also the tattoo on my right shoulder.

I am even told i shouldn't start the process, i mean who asked about all that? not me !! who do people think they are to be telling someone to get married or not get married now, you don't think it's rude?

Wouldn't not starting the process until you have both been saved be a practical solution? That way you avoid having to cancel or delay any steps.

What sort of an answer would you like from us?

I agree and now I jump in ... first when I read her first post I thought WTH...why bring up religion and being saved when the question had nothing to do with those things...2nd she asked for the "saved" part of her post to be brought up by bringing it up herself in a forum that has 100's of different type religions in many different countries and to blame people for asking what she means is in itself a lack of understanding on her part.

3rd saved is nothing more than reaching a point where u decide to accept Christ as you saviour...as far as I know its not a journey you need to plan ahead, when u decide to accept him it is pretty much done, it's not like you think about it for years, is it?

Sorry for my lack of compassion but it seems silly that this thread turns into a thread about another.

I think a large part of the communication problem is the ESL issue. (English as a Second Language) Even amongst countries which have english as their first language, there are vast differences in wording and use of colloquialisms. Consideration for both the person posting the question, as well as the person responding to the question, should be given before posting, in my opinion. Some people on this board jump to conclusions and make assumptions far too easily. Then again, we are not in a professional environment so I no longer expect people to act in a professional manner.

Wot?

Your expectations have been reduced to reality?

Tattoos are cool. My lady had a nice one on her boobie... I dig it somewhat. :innocent:

I could have swore that Airplane was referring to cocaine, but was never that big into them so I can not be sure...

Still an awesome avatar and awesome story though...

"Through the Looking Glass" was my favorite...

One pill makes you larger

And one pill makes you small

And the ones that mother gives you

Don't do anything at all

Go ask Alice

When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits

And you know you're going to fall

Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar

Has given you the call

Call Alice

When she was just small

When men on the chessboard

Get up and tell you where to go

And you've just had some kind of mushroom

And your mind is moving low

Go ask Alice

I think she'll know

When logic and proportion

Have fallen sloppy dead

And the White Knight is talking backwards

And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"

Remember what the dormouse said:

"Feed your head

Feed your head

Feed your head"

I dig this song so much

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

I don't get it. I just don't.

I know it sucks when some people respond in a way that you think is wrong or too harsh. Report them.

Don't whine about it, these aren't your family members or friends, you don't even know these people. Why give 2 sh!ts about what they think? It's not even worth it. You have enough to deal with right? Dealing with all this visa craziness is hard enough.

I wish everyone good luck but some times people take things way too seriously. I asked some questions that were possibly on the dumb side when I first joined, and hey, you get some harsh answers. Ignore them. Argue back if you want, whatever, it's not going to go anywhere.

I say jerks are jerks, nothing you are gonna do is going to change that. If you get a response you think is against TOS, report it. Off topic is a different animal, so if you don't like it, stay out of the crazy world of OT. It gets rough in here.

Good luck to you on your VJ.

I can relate to one of the post comment. Oh man, my wife will literally pinch my arm or beat me up if I eat fatty foods. When i don't want to take a 2 mile walk, she would annoy the hell out of me. I do have to agree that a good wife will beat you up, no doubt.

Thanks for the replies, I guess?

jewish sister..allot of the aggressive behavior is done in fun and jokes between old amigos..do not take offense...shalom ..dean

Trust me, I don't take any offense to anything. I have a very thick skin. Most of the world hates Israel and Jews, especially our neighbours who try to kill us on a daily basis. That would give almost anyone a thick skin. :)

I was only saying, that people can get off topic, and that eventually the threads end with someone getting offended.

After the long thread-hijacking into ioukta's saving, I thought maybe OP msdelila would appreciate this being back about n00bs/boobs/trolls.

nsdelila - as others have indicated the Off Topic (OT) area of VJ is an area that the vast majority of people on this site never really get into. They come for immigration advice, stay on what we call the "Upper" forums, read a bit, maybe post a question or two, and then leave. It's just diehard loozers (present company included) who don't otherwise have a life and who stick around in OT to argue about global warming, sheep shagging, and why Len hates starbuxx so much.

Now I'll no doubt catch sh!t for this, because there's a standing rule of "English only outside the regional forums". However it's not every day that I get a chance to post something in Hebrew on VJ and have it understood. Besides, there is no Israeli regional forum so where else could I post it?
