and as per Scandal's post - here is the Google translation:

"Welcome to Choi. J

-and you're right - non-English is restricted to the Regional forums.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

True enough. However since the vast majority of MENA regulars are non Hebrew speakers, I'm not sure how popular it would be to post Hebrew conversation there either.

That's pretty close.

Actually -

Welcome to the VJ site

I hope you find answers to your questions here. There are a number of Israelis here. Where are you from in Israel? I am originally from Canada but I lived many years in Haifa

The Google translator got most confused with the word "Aretz" (ארץ). It literally means "land" or "country", and could refer to any country. However Israelis often use the word to refer to Israel itself. So when I asked where do they come from in Israel ("ba-aretz"), Google came up with "How should the country".

We had that discussion last week about how speaking Arabic among non-Arabic speakers is rude, so, yea.

Brucha haba'a !!!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Didn't ask, don't even know your grandad - why even ask that here?

marriage is not fries, who are you to tell me i should wait before starting a process to get married? WHO ARE YOU

I am the mighty and all knowing OZ - next question.

just that answer to wait was off topic, that makes it no good that's all

Don't wait. Satisfied?

Hello,

I was just wondering if others thought that the members on this board were rather aggressive and rude when replying to threads. I haven't personally had any problems, but I've read many threads on here and it seems like 90% of the threads end up with some kind of insults.

I'm not saying all the replies are like that, but some are. I'm a member on another forum (for a completely different topic) and everyone on there are the nicest and friendliest people you could cyber-meet.

Just wondering.

D.

Why do you hate VJers?

yes ms delila i agree,

you've been to my thread, you saw how it went smh

i thought this forum would be more welcoming than that and open given the whole world literally is represented here

smh nope not welcoming and agressive yeah, makes me not want to post anymore real shame, and good lord the vulgarity is incredible lol

anyway, i guess lurking is better here

I gave you good answers to your questions. I also see, often, people who want to get married and take advantage of the process but want some spcial consideraion for their religious beliefs. They want a K-1 visa FAST but they want to get married in their own religion and their own country, for example. Well that's what a CR-1 is for! (another of your opitons as the CR-1 has no expiration) "But that takes too long" Too bad for you! If you choose to follow your religious beliefs, then do so and be quiet about it like a good Christian, and don't be calling people vulgar names that get the thread closed. Religious beliefs have nothing to do with the civil visa process. Thank you GOD!!!! I defend your right to worship any God, idol, or symbol you wish in a church, synagogue, mosque or coven and if your religion is more important than the visa process then do what you believe and DON'T WHINE about it. But I see you have been whining ever since.

Your thread title in the other forum even noted postponing "for religious reasons" like that should make some difference. "But, but it is for religious reasons!" Who cares? It is insulting on it's face, but I gave you an accurate answer anyway.

Thanks for the replies, I guess?

jewish sister..allot of the aggressive behavior is done in fun and jokes between old amigos..do not take offense...shalom ..dean

Trust me, I don't take any offense to anything. I have a very thick skin. Most of the world hates Israel and Jews, especially our neighbours who try to kill us on a daily basis. That would give almost anyone a thick skin. :)

I was only saying, that people can get off topic, and that eventually the threads end with someone getting offended.

After the long thread-hijacking into ioukta's saving, I thought maybe OP msdelila would appreciate this being back about n00bs/boobs/trolls.

nsdelila - as others have indicated the Off Topic (OT) area of VJ is an area that the vast majority of people on this site never really get into. They come for immigration advice, stay on what we call the "Upper" forums, read a bit, maybe post a question or two, and then leave. It's just diehard loozers (present company included) who don't otherwise have a life and who stick around in OT to argue about global warming, sheep shagging, and why Len hates starbuxx so much.

Now I'll no doubt catch sh!t for this, because there's a standing rule of "English only outside the regional forums". However it's not every day that I get a chance to post something in Hebrew on VJ and have it understood. Besides, there is no Israeli regional forum so where else could I post it?

For all the others, my first language is English. I'm a Canadian/American/Israeli. In that order. Anyways, I guess this thread is closed. I'm bored of it.

I'm a Canadian/American/Israeli. In that order.

 how come?

Born in Canada, moved to US with parents as a child (got citizenship), then moved to Israel for a couple of years.

I consider myself completely American though. I love the US, that's why I'm moving back with my SO.

By the way, the GOOGLE translation is a bit off. but it's pretty close though. Scandal acutally said, "welcome to website V.J. I hope you find the answers to your questions here, there are a number of Israelis here. Where are you from in the country? I am originally from Canada but lived in Haifa for many years."
