I-130 Petition for Alien Relative-(question D no.2 )

2.Have you ever before filed a petition for this or any other alien? yes or no------

Almost 30 years ago my husband,married asian girl living in US, it only lasted 2 months when he found out she was lying,she was'nt pregnant..etc...he has divorce papers but cannot remember if he petition her as an alien,is there anyway to find out his record in this regard? It was the INS back in 1980s.(i think)

Correct me if am wrong, u said the girl was living in the US already when they met so i assume husband did not file a petition who is already in the country so in that case the asnwer must be NO.

Actually, that is not necessarily true. He could have petitioned her, even if she was already in the US. She may not have had permanent residency. I would contact USCIS. Don't take the advice of someone off the boards on this one because any misstatement could be misconstrued as lying and attempting to hide information.

Would you happen to know, which department of USCIS you contact very old records to see if i actually had petitioned someone?

Hi ,i got my decree of dissolution,the problem is dont know if i've petitioned her,hard to contact USCIS..Do i need to make a letter of explanation?

At this point, I would suggest contacting an immigration attorney. If you put "I don't know" I think you are opening a huge can of worms you don't want to open, plus it will likely delay your case significantly. But, if you put no, and their search reveals otherwise, they catch you for lying. Seriously, find an immigration attorney and enlist their help on this one.
