self generated ds230 form

Hi All,

I got my IV bill yesterday 7/5 & i'll be sending it today 7/6. As far as the DS230 is concerned, i had my spouse print out the form in india. She signed it and sent it over to me. I've it with me now. What i'm concerned about is that on the IV bill they say that we shouldn't use any downloaded computer forms. That had me thinking!

Also, the paper quality of the DS 230 form that my wife printed out in india is a little different from what we get here. So would that be a concern? I know the question may sound a little wierd. I just want to be extra careful with all this b/c i don't want to delay anything!

As for the paper quality, check with someone else through India as to whether they had any issues.

If you are concerned about the quality you could always download a copy yourself and send it to her to sign and return to you. I know that will take a little time but still probably quicker then the alternative.

If the paper quality is good, then you don't have to worry about anything. If you are not sure, print out a new form, email it to her, and have her return it with her signature.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

hey dorman,

when my husband sent me the ds 230, it was on some A2 paper and it was not as "bright" as the paper we usually use..

I sent it in with no problems.

I just had the guy at Office Depot cut it down so that the length was as equal as the other papers I sent. The width of the paper sent from India was a little shorter..

Everything went fine, nothing for you to worry. Just send it.. Godspeed.
