What are your plans for this weekend?

My husband and I will go camping in the wilderness to spark up our official 1st month of togetherness in the US. Hehe.

The Fourth of July is upon us and almost everyone won’t be working Friday and that makes this weekend a long one. No doubt many of us will fire up the grill and enjoy the steak and potatoes and pancit and chardonnay and wait for the skies to be glittered with fireworks as nighttime falls. Some of us might go the beach or to the casino or to the amusement park or what have you.

As for me, my husband and I are driving to San Diego to temporarily escape from the heat of the desert sun. We’ll stop by the Indian casinos on the way and our sights are also set on Sea World and the San Diego Zoo. We’ll also visit his cousin who just came in from Nueva Ecija. We also yearn for a short drive to Baja from San Diego but I might not be able to reenter the US without the proper papers.

You should be fine, Mariel. It's also the 4th of July here in the Philippines. Today is the real independence day of the Philippines as she was free from American sovereignity on July 4, 1946. The Filipino officials who changed Independence Day to June 12 were nuts.

My friends and I will be at the beach resort shortly to celebrate the Philippines' and America's birthdays. We're gonna swim, eat, sing on the videoke, etc.
