I am sorry about your Kassie :(

I work at a vet and I have seen a few patients with bone cancer in the past few months. Hopefully the meds will help be more comfortable for a while so she can stay happier. :star:

I don't know if they took x-rays of her leg, but just to let you know depending on how far it has progressed and which leg it is sometimes there the possibility to amputate the leg. We have a 3 legged Rottweiler that comes to my work, he had the surgery about 2 years ago on a front leg and a little bit of chemo and he is doing great. It also depends on how her overall health is doing to be able to have surgery done. Just wanted to let you know just in case it wasn't mentionned to you by your vet.

He did take an xray... and from where I was sitting (about 7 feet away from the light box), I could even see the lattice-work appearance by her elbow. The affected area is the front right elbow. I'm not crazy about amputation, although the Dr. did mention it, but I have seen happy, happy dogs on tv who have had a limb amputated, and they're just as happy, if not more so, than before. My mom said she's not sure she likes that idea, though. I found a good site, bonecancerdogs.com and something they said there was, along the lines of how only humans have hang-ups about the amputations... not the dogs.

Part of Kassie's AKC name is "Happy Kass"... and she truly is. :) I just want her to stay that way.

My daughter's cat had his leg amputated a year ago. He keeps forgetting that it's gone because he'll be sitting there washing himself, then turn his head to wash his missing leg and get this confused look on his face like .... where's my leg?:lol:

LOL

That is something Kassie would probably do. :)
