Hi everyone,

Man, this vaccines topic is hard. After reading lots of posts I've got many questions answered but still one remains. Which vaccines do I need? I am 27 years old and I had my physical exam less than a year ago. I didn't have any vaccines at the exam and I don't know my vaccine history. According to this link.

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/wk/mm5753-Immunization.pdf

if I understand correctly I only need 3 vaccines?

- Tetanus, diptheria, pertussis. (td, tdap)

- Varicella

- Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)

Am I right or do I need more? also, anyone knows of a clinic in San Jose or near here where I can get these vaccines for cheap? and if anyone has been to the civil surgeons in the San Jose area, which do you recommend? Which one doesn't charge a lot for just filling out the I693 form?

Thanks

I've been talking to Jean at Dr. L.E. Arnold's office in Austin, Texas.

They will fill out the I-693 form for $30.00.

If you do a forum search Dr. L.E. Arnold's name come up quite a lot and people seem to be ecstatic

about their help.

There phone number is 512-444-3131 and she will return your call, unfortunately she will be on vacation

for the next two weeks.

Hope this helps if you can wait.

John

if you have had the shots but your records are unavailable you can have a simple blood test to show the antibodies in the blood. (demonstrating vaccination) it is very inexpensive it's what we had to do since we filed AOS after the medical expired. the blood test was $25 for the co-pay results in 3 business days and then you can have the civil surgeon fill up your form.

good luck

I've had the shots and I have been calling a couple of Civil Surgeons in the Bay Area and they all seem to be charging at least a 100. I'll give Dr. Arnold a call today to see how that goes. Thanks for your replies.

Just a warning about Dr. Arnold. USCIS has been getting picky about the forms done by someone in the state you are applying from.

What do you mean by that? Right now I live in San Jose, CA. Is it good or bad to use Dr. Arnold who is Texas according to your comment and why? please elaborate. Thanks

I've posted this elsewhere but when I visited a CS in Vacaville I was told they were getting a few people in who had used Arnold and had to redo the forms with someone in California. I don't think she was telling lies either because she divulged all of this without me even bringing up the topic.

OK I found out that you can only use Dr Arnold if you already have had your vaccines and medical exam done in your country. Since I came to the US on a work visa I have to do everything from here, so I can't use him because I am not in Texas.

They called me from dr Arnold's office today. It seems that the only thing the do is transfer the vaccines to the form which is worth it for the people with K 1 2 3 "something" visa....but if you are already here and have no vaccines, unless you live near this doctor, you have to do the medical exam with a local civil surgeaon
