Hello to all you Yardie Ladies!

I've been deep into everything since before the Holidays. Between my annual audit at work and then immigration hoo-haa, my mind has been numb. We finally made it through the ARC process as of a couple weeks ago. But alas there are always issues in these situations. In my case mainly the utter lack of work. I thank the Lord that I have a job and make a decent living because I couldn't buy a job for my husband right now.

I hope you are all blessed and things are well. Some of you have dropped me a line here and there to check in and I really appreciate that. I know that my immigration process was easier than most however that unfortuantely did not help the reality of our global economy after it was finished. The pressure on me over the past months has been enormous as it has not been easy for me to have so much responsibility. It's always just been me and my Cocker Spaniel Lady and now hubby must count on me as well. And you all know how much my Jamaican husband likes being in that position!

So we do what we must.....I am starting my MBA in the Fall and hubby is studying for his GED so he can also go to school by the first of the year. We are trying to make the best of a bad economy by preparing ourselves for the future. And being Christians we know it will be a brighter future. :goofy:

I'm looking forward to catching up with the regular ladies here (You know who you are!) and the new ladies as well.

Summer in Florida means staying inside and enjoying the A/C. I'll be online more than most so I hope to see you all around soon.

HEY SCUBAPAM!!!!!

Just hold on..a job soon come. We are still waiting on something to come through that won't effect school schedule.

Thanks Quana, Anthony is super competitive... I was teaching him how to bowl and half way thru he flip the script cause we were losing start telling me ur frame is good but you need to throw the ball a little harder.... :huh: I tell people all the time he is shy if you want to see the other side of him just wip out some cards, dominoes or any game and he turns into a different person!!!....

:rofl: Hubby is the same way. Other couples stopped inviting us to pay games...he whips everyone in EVERY game....including basketball and bowling which he only played once :unsure: He really whips my behind in air hocky :blink: Way too competitive...no sympathy. That's why we don't have a WII...

Yeah...like when I'm telling my husband a story..or about your texts...I start off by...remember my friend who husband was beating all ya'll in pool...his head lower then raises up..I could've really beat him...I was just in a relax mood. Whatever....I remember that nice you husband beat all the VJers hubbys that night. He da King in Pool...for now... :thumbs:

Don't say that to Ryan :rofl: You are crazy KK. I see I didn't mention pool....that's taking it to another level...that's his passion.

do you guys beleive its unrealistic for ppl of certain differing cultures to try to make a marriage work? i know different strokes for different folks but do u think its highly unlikely that ppl from certain cultures will last long as a union?

I don't think it's unrealistic at all - I think what gets unrealistic is when one culture demands that the other culture adapts all of its ways - I think that you have to work together as a couple, and find a compromise that will blend both of your cultures together in a way that works for you.

For example (and I know this is on a much smaller scale) - My family has a mix of Italian (my godfather), and Polish and Irish - We always spent Easter together growing up - As a result, we have raviolis, the traditional ham dinner, then kielbasa and hard boiled eggs with horse radish -

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
