Witnessing any kind of violence is so scary & it's even worse when it's your Mom. You want to protect the woman who always protects you but it's just plain frightening cause you don't know what's gonna happen.

With that couple the other day, I said that if she stays, either he'll eventually kill her or she'll kill him defending herself. I guess she was screaming, "why are you doing this to me? I love you!" If I'd been there, I think I would've tried to talk to her when he went running off. Tell her to get help & LEAVE right away! I just don't know what I would've really done in that situation.

girl..my dad used ruff up my mom.. but i was little like 3 or 4.. can u say dysfunctional childhood.. but when my mom had these deadbeat bf's ..we were facety teens, so no tears this time... STRAIGHT HOLLA AND CUSS!!!

Yeah, believe me, I had a VERY dysfunctional childhood too so I feel ya! It was a good day when my Dad decided to get sober for good...that's all I'll say.

If Lehi ever pointed that lady out to me, I might just have to go up to her & ask her if she's okay. Most of the time when people are in the thick of it like that though, they're either in denial or defensive & I don't necessarily blame them. Besides, who wants to share all your business with a total stranger? (Well, I've met a few who do...)

KK, if you lived near me, you wouldn't be able to steal/share my internet access; I put a password on my wireless router. The reasons not to let other people use your internet are 1) it can slow down your connection, 2) you can be legally responsible for what they download.

on the ambercrombie and fitch.. i wonder if that is what they have sprayed in the store.. i don't even go in there cuz i am not a mall shopper but i walked passed when i took roger to the mall and i HAD to go into that store and stay for a spell.. BEST MAN SMELL EVER!!! it was heavenly.. i am not exaggertting, u know on the cartoons when the scent is pulling the person by the nostrils..that is how i was..

I actually struggled with telling the story a few weeks ago cause I was afraid pics of me with someone else would surface on here from Dillon's wedding. In the end, Dillon assured me I was safe till I was ready.

A was working at Walmart in Canada stocking shelves...he said that he would stack big boxes in front of him on the shelves in the warehouse and go to sleep. He would wake up when the boss came asking for him...and come out the other side...then stack all the boxes back on the shelf like he was doing that all along. I was laughing so hard when he told me...

Exactly. I have friends that go to church all day Sunday...come out to the car in the parking lot and light up their spliffs. The person I watched get beat behind drugs was my mother...by my stepfather. I remember when they were so happy and had the "Blue Light in the basement parties". We were supposed to be sleep, but of course we would sneak out of our bedrooms to be nosey. I remember seeing all the adults smoking weed with the little clips with the feathers on the end, and the strobe lights that made you move in slow motion. Then, my brothers found his "stash" and told my mother. Things went from happy to bad real fast. I watched him foaming at the mouth and tearing things up to try and find money. I remember the crazed look in his eyes when he couldn't get his next fix. He would calm down a little when he smoked some weed...but he still needed more. His addictions got so bad...that his cousin by marriage from Cuba was threatening his life over money he owed. He was a Cuban refugee and drug dealer that idolized and worshipped Scarface...so you know he was dead serious about his threats. My mother begged and pleaded on her knees for my Cuban cousin to spare my stepfather's life. She gave him the rent money...my grandmother sent the money back to her later. My stepfather put her in the hospital and she finally got the courage to leave him and realized that she couldn't save him. So yeah there are some deep feelings behind why I won't tolerate my "man" using drugs of any type. :(

I'm cool around people that smoke...I just won't choose a person that smokes as my mate. I have and will end a relationship if I find out later that my man smokes weed. It just scares me to death...and brings back too many horrible memories. I can never say a man won't hit me...but I can say that will also be the end of our relationship...no matter what he says or does to try to make up for it. I always thank my mom for being so open with us about the things she went through because it kept me and my sister out of a lot of situations that we could have gravitated towards living in the hood. My mother struggled as a single mother for many years to get us out of the hood. We have all come a long way, and I in turn can raise my sons in a home, and pass down lessons from my mom's experiences to them.
