Yesterday was my son's 17th birthday. He called my brother, went to his work, they walked across the street to the cemetary and had lunch at my grandmother's grave. My grandmother would've been 92 yesterday. My son was born on her 75th birthday. They were very close. I teared up.

That's very sweet. Yesterday was my Dad's Birthday - Wednesday was my nephew's birthday - we lost him at 3 months old - it was a bittersweet week for my family.

:((F)(F)

Here's the link to this Sunday www.jamaicadayreggaefestival.com.

I've never seen Yellow Man in concert but for the same price I'll rather see Beres plus it's closer to us..

Damien is crazy...pay him no mind. We sat right next to Yellow Man at a restuarant in Kingston the night before our interview. I had to keep kicking Damien under the table cuz he couldn't stop staring at the man.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

we were in Home Depot yesterday getting another machete, because my husband is so hard on them. He says the machete that they have in the states too flimsy and weak. I have one that I got in Jamica in 1992, but someone made that for me and he's not about to use that to chop down nothing. I came home yesterday and almost drove past my house, he did an excellent job.

:rofl::rofl:

lmao @ gifting a machette

what i am more interested in is how you get dat from ja to the us

but then again it was 92 so whole heapa tings ppl coulda get away with

Of course I carried it in my suitcase and it's in a wood case. It looks more like a carving and it's nice a heavy and feel nice in my hand :unsure: ...the guy that made if for me told me...if a man pass im place, chap im innah two...keep chap imm til im tap move

:rofl: Man the yardie thread makes me laugh every day!

i read somewhere that it was good for your hair

yea i used a whole egg and mixed it with extra virgin olive oil and castor oil

put it in my hair and left it for about 10 mins then washed with a shampoo and deep conditioner

blow dried the hair

laaaaaaawd i was looking like a soft broom

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Nah....just happened.

One is my highschool sweetheart. He found me on classmates. The other is the BIL of his best friend from highschool. Ironically, they play softball together on Sunday nights.

Aww damn I guess you can't go cheer them on.. LOL

Sure I do. I am the scorekeeper.

:lol::lol:

only 145 posts left to go till I get my heart! :blink:

:dance: Go Philly Go Philly! You can do it! You can do it!

I live in Cali, I am a hippie at heart, I got no problem with the herb...

My honey can take it or leave it (thank god) and he knows he must leave it for now... But when he gets here I will have no problem sharing :innocent:

San Francisco has a bit of a different view on this than the rest of the country...

I remember going to Reggae in the Park one year and watching the cops walk around like nothing while people smoked herb EVERYWHERE!!

I think herb is better than alcohol in many ways.

That said, anything that takes away from your priorities and your quality of life is no good... everything in moderation!

JG thanks for sharing (F)

Princess & I are of the same school of thought here....could it be that we're both in the Bay Area?? Hmmmm....

But yes, everything in moderation & so long as it doesn't cause you to neglect the truly important things.

Good point! That's kinda how I am about coffee....never started the habit so at least I save money not having to buy $4 lattes! :thumbs:

Hi Shemmy!

The interview went well. He got approved. We were nervous for nothing.

How was Karin?

Congrats Darlene!

One thing I learned from VJ....is during you interview...Deny..Deny..and Deny.

Do you'll think it is right for them to deny the visa due to the admittance of "trying" it when the test comes back negative?

Me too! And that was the advice I gave & he followed it & thank goodness! I think it's pretty ridiculous to deny someone for admitting it was something they'd done in the past. But I suppose immigration has their reasons (aside from getting more $$ out of petitioners). :wacko:

smiley-chores031.gif

i remember when i used to stand up ova iron board a sunday day time a fix pleat so it don't double seam. lawd a used to hate it!

i RARELY iron anymore

:blink::blink: I don't know where that came from but I hate ironing too! :yes::lol:

jamaicans are laid back when it comes to certain things

i do think that's why our country is where it is

ppl are too laid back and willing to accept any damn foolishness

Lehi is seeing this firsthand now. I know you're referring to more than just business operations but that is just one example.....you can't even expect many business to be efficient in JA let alone anything else. We both were actually floored to get in & out of the social security office in less than 15 minutes (with a FULL waiting room) & he sees now why I'd get so frustrated when trying to accomplish simple tasks at places like the car insurance office or the registrar's.

jamaicans are laid back when it comes to certain things

i do think that's why our country is where it is

ppl are too laid back and willing to accept any damn foolishness

most Jamaican's are, we need trade..nothing is happening without money coming in..other than more crime and violence...

yep!

yuh muss know we country gone when a WHOLE community is living off the gains from lottery scams

mother, father, granny, baby, uncle, etc

Bunz, this lottery think pisses me off so bad I want to strangle someone. Last year I kept getting calls from Jamaica that I won some money and that I must wire, $350/US to collect $3000/US, the person on the phone was twanging so much that it was hard for me to compose myself, but I let dem finish and politely told dem...look pu**y u naw live undah mi so tap call mi phone...I've never received another call.

What gets me about this lottery scam business is that so many people involved seem to think it's OKAY or somehow justify doing it. They just don't see anything wrong with it & I heard enough people boast over how so & so has a new flashy car from the lottery scam. One time Lehi borrowed a phone when he was out of credit to call me real quick while doing some business & after we finished, a few minutes later I get a call back from this same phone number with a guy trying to feed me some BS lines about a lottery or some other nonsense. I can't remember what I said but I ended the call in a heartbeat. I then called Lehi on his phone & told him to tell the guy whose phone he borrowed to NEVER call me again & stop trying to scam people. He was HOT when I told him & told the guy off!

my husband birthday is this week. i don't know what to get him. any ideas?

i asked him what he wants and he said nothing......i thought i would never hear that

That Abercrombie & Fitch fragrance... I don't know the name but it's their most popular one. I smelled it on this guy one time and WOW. I'm getting it for Steven as his welcome gift whenever he gets here.

Some electronic gadget. Men seem to especially like those. In 30 years of marriage, the gift my father liked the most was the navigation system my mother got him.

Sporting event tickets or lessons.

Ooohhh! I wonder if that's the stuff I smell once in a while that makes me want to chase even an ugly guy down! I'll have to go search that out cause there's one scent that smells a little like really clean soap to me & I LOVE it! I want to get that for mister except if he put that on we might never leave the house! :devil:
