JG...thank you for doing this, because you did not have to. Your story definitely helps me in that it reminds me that as much as you plan for the best, and give, and love, and do all of the things that a "good woman" and "good wife" is supposed to do, it doesn't necessarily mean that your love and dedication will be reciprocated. Nothing in life is a given. That's the lesson that both of our stories tells...I'm glad that you're doing well now, and I'm glad that you did stay in a relationship that could have very well ruined your life. You have children to live for, and getting rid of man who provided such a negative example was the best thing that you could have done as a mother. Stay blessed girl! And live your life!

Very eloquent Mrs. P. I've always given you mad credit for sticking in there with the man you loved. A lot of people told me to give up on my relationship because they felt A should have been able to make a decision to put me first before his girls...I wouldn't want a man to tell me to put my kids second and I don't want to date a man that would even consider putting me before his children. So it took 5 years of LDR...as long as he was treating me right and loving me right...I would have been able to go at least another month. LOL

I'm so afraid of the depression behind not working. He keeps telling me that he can't wait until he is working. I keep telling him that he needs to understand it will not be an overnight thing. I want him to gain a trade so he doesn't have to settle on anything. However, if he is happy working at a car detailing shop or collecting garbage or whatever...I will support his efforts. I just don't look forward to those days of longing for work and him moping around the house because he can't be the man and provide. I will just have to pray through that obstacle too.

Jawi I completely agree with this, Family is very important to me and A's decision to stand by his girls and maintain the LDR until the right time to leave is extremely valiant! ( Clapping my Hands) That's a real man and exactly the type of Husband you need in your life!

Quanna I use Mayonaise in my hair as a conditioner and have been doing it for years. I leave it in for hours at a time with a plastic bag on my head LOL and let me tell when you rinse it out your hair feels so silk and smooth my curls are bouncy and full. Try it you will love it!

DADA.. notice.. i say why am IIIII just now hearing about it lol.. me and u both are on vj u could at least sent me a pm :crying::rofl:

girl.. i told roger about that friend and he did not like that situation AT ALL!!!

guys we are talking bout our friend just married a few mnths ago and not ready to give up her annual trip to JA.. i think its a combo of not ready to give up ur single life and resentment of having to bear the burden carrying the household.. GIRLS just wanna have fun i guess LOL

why bother get married.....

I guess to bring him here...

and that is what is so unfortunate about the immigration.. i am thankful that our country has its rules and it really is better than coutries like LONDON but so many ppl see no other way to get to know somebody than to marry them, yeah they could have done the LDR a while longer, but thats very hard only a few of us can endure that i think..

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Yesterday was my son's 17th birthday. He called my brother, went to his work, they walked across the street to the cemetary and had lunch at my grandmother's grave. My grandmother would've been 92 yesterday. My son was born on her 75th birthday. They were very close. I teared up.

That's what I am talking about!

That's very sweet. Yesterday was my Dad's Birthday - Wednesday was my nephew's birthday - we lost him at 3 months old - it was a bittersweet week for my family.
