And where has Shrewdgal been?

Since I've saved the PMs with advice I'd need for the future, I figured tonight would be a good time to review those messages:

KK, thanks for being the first person to PM me and invite me to the yardie thread. That was on Dec 22, right after I joined the site. I didn't really start reading & posting for a few months after that, though. The thread was like double-dutch to me... I didn't know where to jump in.

I tried that DHL tracking "trick" to find out what cases left NVC headed to embassies around the world. I was VERY pleased to see that a package shipped from Portsmouth, NH to Kingston, Jamaica only took ONE DAY! My estimate was a week, so that news shaves off a few days.

Last time I checked the Yardie Interview spreadsheet, I saw that a few people had their interviews 2 months after NOA2. I'm really hoping for an interview during the week of Memorial Day (Sept 7) so I can make use of that holiday to save a vacation day.

Why such a delay? You don't want to try for a date in August? I guess what is another month after waiting so long. I'm still so excited for you.

Edited to add: Wait aren't you going in August to Jamaica? You should email them and try to get a date based on your upcoming vacation.

I'm going July 26-29. I doubt it can be that soon, as that wouldn't leave enough time for the medical. And since I'm going in July, I don't know how the boss would feel about me taking off again in August.

Speaking of... After you have the medical, do you pick up the results in __ days or do they mail the results straight to the embassy? If you pick them up, how long do they take to be ready?

A went for his medical on June 2nd and got to pick up the results on June 16th...two days before the interview date. Oh okay...yeah I don't think you could get it that fast. That sucks.

Morning all!

Welcome back Newly...glad the shoes earned their keep. So, I'm assuming you mean he won't stop smoking herb. I hope he knows to deny...deny...deny. You may want to pay to have him tested prior to him going to the medical too...hate for you to waste so much time and energy on the process...and he didn't stop..because then you know that you can reschedule/postpone the medical and interview for a while until his system is clean.

Let me ask a few questions: How many of you would stay with your man if he was restricted from entering the US for 3 years because of herb smoking? How many of you would stay with your man if he was banned in the US for 3/7/10 years for overstaying a visitors visa or work visa? How long would you wait for USCIS to approve the petition before you decided to give up or seek another alternative? How long would you stay in an LDR?

Speaking for me - NO I would not stay in this relationship - If you can't love me and respect me enough to give it up when it means our future together, then why should I wait around? Now a situation where he tested clean but got screwed by the dr - that would be different - But a dirty test, I would be done. I love him enough to do what it takes to get us through - if he can't show me the same love, it's not a valid relationship.

When I got home from the baseball game today, I did my 3 usual checks for USCIS news: mail, email, & USCIS case status website. Seeing nothing there, and hearing how all my other long-waiting December filers are being approved this week, I called the number & used the secret code Roxie told me.

The lady told me that they're processing cases from December 23 today. Then she asked for my receipt number, and I heard quite for a long time. "Hello?" "I'm still here." Then she goes "Well, I have good news. YOUR APPROVAL WAS SENT OUT TODAY." I started screaming/crying/talking. She kept trying to tell me about NVC & blah blah blah. But I was on my approval high and didn't hear a word she said!

:dance: :dance: :crying::dance: :dance: :star:

Praise be to God. JUST yesterday, Steven told me that he got the passport pictures which was the VERY last thing we needed for the medical/interview. After he said that, I pointed up and said "We're ready! The next step is on You!" Then, today, NOA2!!

Thanks God!!!!

Congrats Nat!!!

I need ya'lls...opinion.

So normally, I stay out of my co-workers arrival and departure times. However, it is now starting to effect ME!!! My co-worker comes in after 10am and leaves before 5pm. Saying he works through lunch...okay fine..but they don't add up to 8 freaking hours. So here I am (on VJ I know) having to stay later than my normal time to work on something that is suppose to be teamwork. Not to brag on myself...Shoot...I'mma brag. I do very good work and work more efficiently then my co-workers. Bad part...I get a larger workload then they do. I refuse to work from home after work..because they have a no working from home policy..there for I ain't...yep I said ain't going to work at home period. So back to my rant....he a$$ is gone home and I'm no where near finish with my project. Not to mention I was on vacation Monday and Tuesday...and HE was suppose to have the sample pick out for me by this morning. I didn't get the freaking thing until 2pm. I'm so HOT....I mean...Hotter than the Sun...(philly gotta use something hotter than the fish grease).

Sooooo, I was thinking of having a real talk with my manager. It's not about telling on him...but this is not right. Even when I'm on VJ, I stay later to make up that time. I really don't care what time he comes in and leave...but when you have a team member staying late and you didn't even have the heart or thought to ask if I needed help. Oh..but because I get done with my work I help all of them. No fair.

Sorry to bore you with my rant. But it is really bothering me and before I go home to complain to hubby..I will get the uncontrollable vent out first.

KK, I would informally talk to your manager - address your concerns about the project, and I would send him emails confirming your part of it and his =- Bcc your manager on the emails. Why should you suffer or be penalized because of him? I did it for a long time with one of the attorneys I work with, was constantly covering for her =- then she slammed me and blamed me for a mistake she made. I started making sure every communication was via email, or followed up that way, and saving them - Come the next incident, I had my butt covered.

Ok see you ladies lata! I'm leaving work to pick up hubby from his brother's house and head home. Waiting to hear your advice on the afore posted subject re: co-worker.

SG, I would stay out of it - I know it's hard not to, but it would probably come back and bite you in the azz
