Jawi - To answer you questions - The act of still smoking knowing that it could possible jepodize {sp} our future here in the US...clearly means that he/she doesn't feel the scarfice is worth it. Once the petitioner has the NOA2 here..they should definitely, hands down, STOP. It will payoff in the long run. Then who do they turn to pay off the medical for being dirty? The petitioner.

I've seen people fail the test and the wife had to call the doctor to beg for a pay off.

I would not stay with that person if they didn't pass. It's a sign of huge disrespect...and COULD possible lead to other issues. Plus, personally I don't smoke :innocent: and wouldn't want to the hassle of keeping out of the cops eyes here. It leads to nothing good. Just my two cents. Back to work for me.

When I got home from the baseball game today, I did my 3 usual checks for USCIS news: mail, email, & USCIS case status website. Seeing nothing there, and hearing how all my other long-waiting December filers are being approved this week, I called the number & used the secret code Roxie told me.

The lady told me that they're processing cases from December 23 today. Then she asked for my receipt number, and I heard quite for a long time. "Hello?" "I'm still here." Then she goes "Well, I have good news. YOUR APPROVAL WAS SENT OUT TODAY." I started screaming/crying/talking. She kept trying to tell me about NVC & blah blah blah. But I was on my approval high and didn't hear a word she said!

:dance: :dance: :crying::dance: :dance: :star:

Praise be to God. JUST yesterday, Steven told me that he got the passport pictures which was the VERY last thing we needed for the medical/interview. After he said that, I pointed up and said "We're ready! The next step is on You!" Then, today, NOA2!!

About F#@*ing time. CONGRATULATIONS NPB! You must be dancing on air all day today.

Louis quit about 3 months before the medical. I did alot of research! THC stores in your fat cells, Louis had (at the time) about 0% body fat so it wouldn't stay in his system long no matter what.

You say "at the time." I'm wondering about how much the men get bigger when they go from Jamaica to here. Steven thinks he won't gain weight. I'm SURE that he will. About how many clothing sizes did Louis go up (if you don't mind sharing)?

nat i was perusing the "6 months plus waiting club" thread

this poor girl sara been waiting like 2 yrs now

why the hell is it taking so long for her to get through (i couldn't read ALL of the thread but i'm genuinely curious)

She's been given the run-around of all run-arounds. You know how people say "Engage your senators & congressman. Call every day. Speak to supervisors." Sara is living proof that all that stuff doesn't necessarily do anything. Even the other chick who filed in December who I keep in touch with... she had an inside connection with VSC & they told her one thing, but it wasn't true she later found out. I'm not convinced that anything really works to speed up your approval, but at least you feel like you're doing SOMETHING.

Thanks for the congratulations. I'm just waiting to see the update on the website or get that hard copy in my hands. For those who just went through the next few steps, hope you don't mind all the questions I'll be asking!

I was going to ask you if you were going to use the drop off date method or use DHL like I did to get the DS-230 dropped off. Also, call NVC tomorrow to see if they have your KNG #. You may not see a website update EVER. My letter from NVC came before my hardcopy NOA2. Let me know if you need anything...or have any questions. I'm sure Dills, Ells and all the rest of us should have some answers for you. You were our nailbiter case...like Gill and Mrs. Scott were a year or so ago. I'm so unbelievably happy for you right now. It's like I just got my approval notice all over again.

I can finally leave VJ in peace now. You done good baby...you done good. :dead: *Jawi fainting from a bad case of gas* :dead:

Louis left SLU with a 29 inch waist. He has about a 32 now! He said he wouldnt gain weight either. I remember in St Lucia this lady introduced me to her man, said he was skinny too... until he married her! Now he is "fat and happy".

Louis eats alot more here. He has so many more choices! I also remember talking to him at times and he had helped his mom out or a family member with $$ and didnt have anything to eat. He would go hungry if somone needed something. He would get paid once a month and have to stretch that out all month.

Now if only I could go in reverse!!!

I agree 100% with KK...as soon as I got our NOA2 hubby stopped smoking...so he stopped smoking for 9mos before his medical in Nov...I wouldn't have stayed if he didn't listen cause he know the consequences if they found it in his system...

My husband gained weight too when he first came up here...he was about 140 in JA (that was after he stopped smoking)...but he lost it all...he use to weigh 150pounds when he first came up and now he dropped down to 136pounds...i told him its because he started smoking again...as soon as he started smoking heavy again he started losing weight and just didn't look as healthy as he did when he first came up...a lot of people told him that his looked change since he's been here but he don't want to listen...he thinks it just my way of nagging so he can stop...but the evidence is there...

CONGRATULATIONS NAT!!!!!!!!!!!...Been waiting to see your approval happen....

I need your advice. I think I know that answer but I will ask anyway.

Part 1 - There is this co-worker who is friends with this other person. The person found a better paying job and left for greener pastures about a year ago, but this co-worker apparently was jealous of the move. This other person's job was eliminated and he wanted to come back to the fold and everything was looking good until this co-worker went behind her friend's back and told our director that she does not think this person will stay for long so he should not be re-hired. This resulted in the person being turned down.

Part 2 - This guy is so devastated that he has been talking about it on his Facebook page and appears to be in total shock. This "heffa" has printed out the page from FB and is showing everybody at work and they have been making fun of this all day. Should I go on FB and private mail this person to let him know? BTW, I did not socialize with them so he is not a friend and normally I would not care. However, something about this just urks me.

look at ells down there typing a big long post

:rofl::rofl:

help me out please...

my co worker and i are having a debate over this matter.

Do you all think it is ok for a 30 year old to be hanging out with 17/18/19 year olds?

i think this is wierd. she thinks this is ok.

tell me what you think...

Yes absolutely. If you all live in the same group home or cell block.

 At first my answer was going to be YES until I remembered that I'm good friends with one of my girlfriend's moms. She is also one of my best friends in this world (who I met through her daughter (my friend) first) & she is like a mom & a buddy in one.

a test??? i didn't know we were going to have a test..

Yup - most American's can't pass it -

http://blogthings.com/couldyoupasstheuscitizenshiptestquiz/

I couldn't! And I just finished American Government last semester!! :help::blink:

so last night hubby and i were talking about all the ####### that people used to tell us to try and discourage us from being together and we were crackin up so bad..

most of what i heard from my friends/coworkers/family maybe you all have heard too....like he just wants a better life, wants to come to america, wants a greencard, etc...

but i couldn't believe what his friends told him. they said that american women just want to file for you and then treat you like ####### when you get there and boss you around and rule your life and then you will be miserable!! i guess maybe this has happened but i thought it was hilarious!!

ha! ha! anybody else heard any good ones?

I've pretty much heard all of those. A friend who I haven't spoken to in YEARS but ran into in Walmart when visiting my parents on Father's Day weekend recently told my friends (the ones who I played tour guide to yesterday) when having dinner together that I'm a cradle robber & a cougar. I pretty much blew it off but when I told Lehi, he was downright HURT. I felt bad & like I shouldn't have shared that with him....I had no idea it would bother him so much because really, the insult is on me & not him. I think either she's hurt because we haven't kept in contact (I hated hanging around her & her husband because she was a constant BEYOTCH to him in front of everyone so I cut it off) or she's just jealous cause her marriage is (and probably has been) STALE! Who knows?? The people who I care about know better so I really don't care what the rest think.

Okay i was pissed the hell off two hours ago!!!!!! thinking i was caught up but was still in thread 15!!! so this is a double post...

Okay all caught up.... First of all where the hell is everybody???

second Dada n Hotlegz lmao yall need to stop i seen the both of yall pic's and neither one of yall are ugly so just stop it!!! i yuh want i can show yall sum ugly or less attractive ppl

third MY TRIP WAS AWESOME i had a blast! went to the jerk festival my friends met me on Thursday they all luvvvv J **kiss teeth** him try fi tek mi frenz away! I worked my #### off in my shoes all di gals either dem ah pree or rate me when i wore dem... It was so funny cause i mean the guys was going hard as soon as j look the other way i had them blowing kisses and acting up lmao i asked j if he was mad he was like no it make him feel good all the men ah pree his girl and im shutting all them down lol... i really had fun fun fun dis time i was truly myself i mean in the club singing all the songs dancing my azz off j was like oh so this is the Tee i been hearing about lol fun times mi ah sey... the only thing that pissed me off was the fact that j did not stop smoking yet like he was suppose to do last month after cussing him the hell out for a hour i came to the fact that i am not going to nagg him or bother myself about it he know what he needs to do to get what he wants so if smoking is that important than obviously im not! so mi caan manage nuh more stress and mi nuh bother wit dat so hopefully he would wise up! but all in all i had fun alot of laughing and smiling i so proud of myself cause when i use to leave before i use to be so dramatic but now i got it unda control I think j kinda miss me acting a fool in the airport cause he was like how come yu ah bawl fi Michael Jackson and nuh bawl at the airport nomore lol i thought that was cute

ohhhhhhhhh this is so late but here's and update on mi fren with the donkey pic on the net i left a comment under the pic asking the moderator to stop being so mean and to take it down because its a shame that you cant just go out and let loose a lil without being ridiculed and shockingly she took it down, my fren was so damn happy i was more like ummmm hummmmm whatever....

Glad you had a great trip, Newly!:yes:

However, make it clear to your man that this is a temporary sacrifice & if he doesn't want to make it, tell you now so you don't have to keep spending your hard-earned $$!

finally newly.. so i can comment on what i read ages ago in part 15 LOL

i am so happy u had such a great time on ur bday.. rog says the same thing.. he likes when guys flirt w/ me.. i hope nobody stepped on ur shoes LOL

so ur honey smokes and u don't like it.. im glad u took the low road.. no sense in stressing urself.. i had to figure that out.. it just sucks when u know it could mean the end of something good. why can't they just do what we say.. i mean what is right :bonk:

The only thing I have to say about this is be very careful sweeping it under the rug. It's a very serious thing when they fail the medical. 3 years is a long time to wait. And, there is no guarentee he will pass the next time then. We have had Yardies on here who have not spoken up to their SO's, who have tried magic pills, who have tried these magic elixirs, etc.....Most have crashed and burned after the initial rejection. Only one that I can remember has actually passed (thus far) and it was a long and difficult 3 years.

It is important to stress yourself enough to really make him understand the importance of a clean medical drug test.

THERE IS NO MAGIC PILL, BUSH REMEDEY... NOTHING that can make you pass that test except quitting and time! Beleive me I know, I have had plenty of "pot smoking hippie" friends try to scam the tests before! LOL Even now that Louis is here... we don't waste our money on it. Louis could not beleive the cost in the states!

If he didnt pass... I WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED! I can't say I know what I would have done. But I probably would have gone back to St Lucia to live and see what happened from there. I do not have a problem with him smoking, I would have had a big problem if he put our future in jeapardy for it.

DITTO!

I need ya'lls...opinion.

So normally, I stay out of my co-workers arrival and departure times. However, it is now starting to effect ME!!! My co-worker comes in after 10am and leaves before 5pm. Saying he works through lunch...okay fine..but they don't add up to 8 freaking hours. So here I am (on VJ I know) having to stay later than my normal time to work on something that is suppose to be teamwork. Not to brag on myself...Shoot...I'mma brag. I do very good work and work more efficiently then my co-workers. Bad part...I get a larger workload then they do. I refuse to work from home after work..because they have a no working from home policy..there for I ain't...yep I said ain't going to work at home period. So back to my rant....he a$$ is gone home and I'm no where near finish with my project. Not to mention I was on vacation Monday and Tuesday...and HE was suppose to have the sample pick out for me by this morning. I didn't get the freaking thing until 2pm. I'm so HOT....I mean...Hotter than the Sun...(philly gotta use something hotter than the fish grease).

Sooooo, I was thinking of having a real talk with my manager. It's not about telling on him...but this is not right. Even when I'm on VJ, I stay later to make up that time. I really don't care what time he comes in and leave...but when you have a team member staying late and you didn't even have the heart or thought to ask if I needed help. Oh..but because I get done with my work I help all of them. No fair.

Sorry to bore you with my rant. But it is really bothering me and before I go home to complain to hubby..I will get the uncontrollable vent out first.
