FW: Economy's Effects in Jamaica

---

A man from the country part of Jamaica arrived at the Norman Manley Airport in Kingston , burdened down by his luggage, passport, and all the necessary

titbits for a prolonged journey. Looking around anxiously he finally approached a ticket counter and told the agent: 'Please do, sell mi a ticket fi go a Jeopardy, Miss.'The agent looked confused. 'Jeopardy, Sir? Where is

that?' she asked. The man, even more nervous and agitated replied: 'Mi nuh haf no time fi fool roun'. Jus' gi mi a ticket to Jeopardy.' The agent searched

through her schedules and other directories. 'Excuse me, Sir, but there is no such place!

Are you sure that's whereyou want to travel?'The man lost his temper and pounded his fist on the counter. Look, 'ooman. Mi done tell you already mi nuh

haf time fi wace. Mi hear pon mi radio dis mawnin seh 900 jobs inna Jeopardy; so ah deh so mi want fi go, NOW!'

Ms.tee u have 90 days to marry after entering on the K-1 -- since u know she di case reach a Kingston areadi start making sure everything else is in place. It's possible you can get a September interview date.

I do have all my paperwork. He signed the DS-230 part I, I have 3 years worth of taxes, pictures when we were together with me and him and me with his family. We both have birth certificates, I have my passport, no criminal background, he is about to go see about the medical. Anything else I need? I hope we get a Sept. date because my birthday is on the 18th. Wouldn't that be crazy if the interview is the same day as my birthday?

You guys are SUCH a big help.

wait deh --

Do u have the police certificate, non-impiedment forms and all the other forms you have to bring with you to the interview...did u turn in the DS-230 yet? You can go ahead and do it since the case is in town. you can either DHL it to the embassy or ask the embassy for an appt to drop it off

The only thing he still has to do is the medical..

Our interview is in Monday. I'm thinking to stay in Montego Bay Thursday night & check with DHL Friday morning (and again Friday afternoon).

Don't bother with staying in Mobay, just call them & you can catch a taxi there to pick up if you need to. I'd even start calling by Wednesday noon because you never know, it might be ready by then.

Oh, I'd stay in MoBay regardless.... I want to check out that casino we didn't go to last time. Plus, it's convenient already being in MoBay the day of my flight... only 5 minutes to the airport compared to over an hour.

Oh, I didn't realize the K1's went through AP sometimes. 22 year with the company??? I didn't think you were that much older than that.

I didn't either!

Yes, Finesse, I'm going to the interview. I'll be using 5 of my 6 remaining vacation days to go...

JaPrincess, glad you're doing better. I'm also eagerly awaiting culture1's results. Regarding the hardest thing ever, someone created a thread about that a few months ago. I, along with others who were waiting for NOA2, said that the waiting was the hardest part. But those who already had NOA2 said that the REAL hardest part is the interview, because your fate lies in the hands of the ONE PERSON you talk to at the embassy, and you have no idea of how that person is feeling that day.

Congratulations to RoxieJoe!

su u ave anything special planned for when im reach here?

Oh okay, in that case, you'll be close cause you're leaving that day....I get it now. Try calling Wednesday & see if it is there...can't hurt.

I know everyone gets a different person at the interview but I just have to say that the two ladies we saw were both VERY nice! They could see by my humongous binder that I was OVER-prepared & we just tried to be very friendly & polite. I'm sure we got lucky in that we saw two nice officers but it always helps to be nice. Try not to worry too much....as long as you're prepared, I don't think you'll have any problems.

Dat a girl!!! That's the attitude you should have.... As long as you, him and god are there and you both say I Do that's all that matters. I'm sure your planner has it all under control so rub your ears and say whoo sawwwwww and what will be will be plus what isn’t its too late the big day is this weekend right??

Speaking of which and this is not reference to you Ells lol but does anyone watch Bridezillas?? I was watching some reruns this past weekend ( I swear I can watch wedding stuff all day long) and the one girl was a trip. Its was the second time both of them were getting married and she went on his bachelor party with him and argued with all his friends and him too smacked so woman punched her wedding cake and told her FI that if he didnt want to marry her so what as fine as she was someone else would. I was toooo out done!

Yeah, I had to put myself in check & remind myself that I didn't want to make a big deal out of the day anyway so why stress on it. Yep, 3 days till we take the plunge now. It would be kinda funny if we actually took a plunge since we're right by the lake.

Sometimes I wish I had cable reading about all these crazy shows you all watch. I'm sure I'd be shocked & amused at the Bridezilla show.

Thanks Ells just what I needed to know! Btw, Im VERY happy for you guys! :)

You're welcome & thank you too!

Not exactly. I have a list of all the things to do with him in my area, but I need to go through & figure out which months we'll do the various activities. I need to make sure I find the active things to do that I don't mind doing. I'm more of a comedy club/karaoke/theatre person. He's more into go-karts & shooting ranges.

One spot I bet both of us will really enjoy is this one sports bar. On Friday nights they have karaoke and in the room next to karaoke, they have darts, air hockey, and pool tables. I used to hang out there a lot back when I was dating people in America. We'll probably both enjoy Dave & Buster's, but while he'll want the action games, I like the mental ones (like where you press on the button exactly when the circulating light is in this one place).

I know! He mentioned that he's never been ice skating. They have that at the Galleria a few blocks from where I live. We can do that his first weekend here.

Better watch out Finesse - NatPatBen coming for your #1 spot!!!!!!!!!!!:rofl:

** Paging Ells**

I just seen your post about the Mr being uninterested and what ever you do DO NOT become frustrated. I try to tell all my brides... well people i know getting married that most times the man will NEVER be as interested in the details as we are. All they want to know is what are they eating and drinking the rest is up to you. Your going through what a lot of ladies go through. Now granted there are some husbands out there that do help with the planning but for the most part its to keep the future Mrs off there back.

It was the same way with my soon to be one day ex he could care less and sometimes at night I was up worried and he was just sleeping or playing his stupid X-Box. As long as we had fried chicken on the menu (which I later took off) he was contempt. When you sit back and think about its really our day in a way and I guess they figure why participate in something they know at the end its going to be what we want anyway.

Calm down chica that is what your MOH is for pesture her with the details and just tell Mr. to be at the darn alter....

Thanks DaDa! I know it's mostly me fussing but the thing is, he DOES care but he doesn't like doing the 'homework' involved with it. He's way more fussy than me about what he's wearing. He's on to his 2nd outfit selection now. But it's partially true, he mostly just wants to know what he has to do the day of & leave the rest to me. I don't have a MOH or any bridesmaids so it's just up to my good friend who's my 'planner'....I'm trying to just let it all go now & know things will work out fine even if we don't have all the music we want & it's going to be fun & who cares if it's not perfect.

I watch it ALL the time. My bridesmaids made me promise not to be a Bridezilla lol
