Hey ppl i am all settled in i love the room at sandcastles oh Dada did i forgot to tell u that j dont know im here...

Surprises are great! I did enjoy my stay, even though it was a short one.

While you're there, I recommend that you have your guy sign the DS-230... perhaps have him sign 2 copies of it so you can send the signed copies to the embassy in both hard copy & electronic formats.

DJ's in the hospital, JG - Bleeding ulcer - I am having a hard time getting a lot of info, but he's not doing well, he's lost a lot of blood

Not good news so far, so please keep praying -

They have put a tube in his throat now which is why he isn't answering his phone - His brother is trying to get back over there and will call me later - we're trying to get him moved to a private hospital -

I'm so sorry Sus! This is really messing with my head right now. I'm not sure if you guys read that part of the story where Ian was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer. I wrote that almost two weeks ago...and I could see the image as clear as day in my head. I couldn't explain it, and I even went to research if an ulcer could have you loose the kind of blood I saw in my mind. I am crying as I type this...I am really praying for DJ...so much has happened to him in so little time. Sus honey I know you are barely holding on...so much on your shoulders baby. I love you...the burden will ease...just have faith and know that God has you and your husband.

I'm so sorry Damniecy about the job.

Sus i am so sorry to hear ur news u & dj r in my prayers please keep us posted...

YES Dada it is newly in the flesh u wanna story how about i have internet service because im in flight to JA for 9 days.... okay pick up yuh mouth oomen i needed to get away any and everything that can go wrong have been my godmom died last week, my employer is contesting my unemployment, i cant sleep at night toss and turn until 3:40 am then i wake up at 6am... i fount myself slipping into a depression state so after my godmommy wake yesterday that was the breaking point i had my friend book me a flight for today and no one knows where im at except my yardies....

My heart and prayers are with you as well Newly for your godmother. Enjoy Jamaica...

morning all!! sorry for all the bad news..!

Jawi, i can definately see where ur coming from. And for me it's automatic for me not to refer to my husband as boy..i just dont use the word. But, I can also see how ppl can play with the word..being freaky or playful..and with such a diverse culture as America, there are many things that will offend one and not the other..we just have to be mindful..like many have stated.

I wasn't only thinking from a racial standpoint...so thanks for understanding where I was coming from.

Aww Jawi, my heart goes out to you. (F) Hope you are getting better and stronger daily. I experienced this once, I had pulled an all-nighter and had to go to work the next morning. I fell asleep at the wheel and started to go off the road but a Mack truck going by and the groves in the highway woke me. Like you I started crying because I was so afraid of what would have happened if I didn’t wake up in time and then I was frustrated because I was that tired. I was in traffic and our highways once you’re on them you’re kind of stuck for miles. When I finally got to work I just slept for an hour in my car. I went into work late and ended up getting fired because I had been warned before. But I promised myself from then on no job would be worth my life. I was much younger then so letting a job go like that was less detrimental than it would be today, but I completely understand how you must have felt. My heart jumped reading this, you brought back that memory. Hope you get back to 100% soon.

Thanks J2A...my problems seem to pale in comparison to what so many of us are goin through right now. All I can say is that od must have some real big breakthroughs for the yardies because Satan is attacking in full effect. Satan is a liar though and has no power over me. When he attacks it just makes me fall on my face and call on the Glorious name of Jesus even more. Even when he attacks me in my sleep (every night...then reason I'm afraid to sleep)...I find the strength even then to profess that I love the Lord and Jesus is my Saviour! Then, the paralysis disappears and my heart rate comes back down to normal and I no longer feel like I am being strangled.

Jawi..i didn't realize they can do that when ur on LTD..wow..that's crazy

I didn't either sis. I thought the worst of it was getting my pay reduced to 67%.

Morning peeps...

Well, I don't have any good news either. My pink eye has moved to infect my ear and my throat :(

My eyes is still red and swollen, I can't swallow and my ear hurts like wah

Hope you feel better JaP...remember this happened to me right before the surgery. I didn't have the earache though.

Jawi, I can't even express how sad I feel about your situation. I hope that the Dr. can change your hours and they indeed honor the Dr.'s orders. OMG Jawi you falling asleep on the highway and running off the road is a major indicator that you are not ready to go back to work because of your condition, this is an outrage your well being is in jeopardy. I am so sorry Jawi I can't imagine the emotions you are feeling now especially as a Mother going to work is now a life threatening experience. I hope A comes soon to help ease off some of this stress. Please let us know what happens today at work, I truly hope you have a better week than last week. You are in my prayers the Creator can definitely make a change so don't despair.....(F)

I'm thankful to still have my job...although I feel like I am caught between a rock and a hard place. I am in pain like before again...so I know that I wasn't supposed to go back. I know that I can take LTD and let God handle the rest...my kids...my mortgage...my AOS...but I feel that I am giving up. I promised myself growing up in the hood that I would do whatever it took not to raise my kids on assistance...even if I had to work 3 jobs. I'm not knocking the system...but I'm just fiercely independent. I can't stop crying...but weeping is okay for a while. I am not defeated, and neither are my yardies on this thread. Ladies let's just remember to praise Him even through rough times just as we praise Him during the joyous times.

Sus I am sorry about DJ, my prayers goes out to both of you

Finesse sorry about the tire

Hope you feel better soon Tre

It seems like its just a all around bad monday.

A co worker and myself lost our jobs today... they say they are downsizing.... such is life

The funny thing is that we both just got back off of maternity leave in March.

It will give me the push I need to move out of state anyways so I just look at it as a blessing

Sus i am so sorry to hear ur news u & dj r in my prayers please keep us posted...

Hey Philly it wasn't really a demotion...although I'm calling it that. I worked with a more specialized group of employees that had a higher job title/description and salary band. But, I'm still a supervisor...just with more needy employees now.

I have to have the doctor fill out a workplace accommodation for Human Resources...so I'm going to ask him to state that I need daytime hours because of my medications...I don't mind the off days. The HR manager told me that they have to honor whatever accommodations the doctor recommends. I fell asleep on the highway Friday because I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours (even leaving at 3 PM) ...I almost caused a huge accident. Then, I drove off the road near my home because I couldn't stay awake. I woke up when I heard the car rolling over tree branches and rocks. I cried because it was so scary and I feel so helpless. Actually, I have been crying all weekend.

I have to go back and keep catching up.

Aww Jawi, my heart goes out to you. (F) Hope you are getting better and stronger daily. I experienced this once, I had pulled an all-nighter and had to go to work the next morning. Sus, I am so sorry to hear about DJ, I hope you have gotten some good news by now!!! I will keep praying for him and you!!

Newly, now that I read what you are going thru I feel like such a bythc for being so selfish!! Thank for the offer but you need time to steady your mind and focus on your next step... I will be praying that the lord guide your steps however he sees fit!!

Jawi, I can't even begin to imagine what your are going through all I can do is pray, and trust in the father knowing he has a plan for everything and he dew time it will be revealed to you!! Keep your head up and stay strong, he didn't bring you this far to leave you!

Thank you, well I live in a two bed apartment so I told her she could invite 10 friends over. I love to cook and the kids love my food, So Im going to throw together somethings and play games with them, listen to music. Have a cake for her. Stuff like that.

I work full time and Im also in college to become a teacher and I always particpate in my children's schooling so all her friends tell her im the coolest mom and when we have class trips they always want to me in my group. They come to me for advice and things of that nature. I have a love for children!

This is so admirable. Great job Mstee and thanks for the prayer!

DOCS CAN SAY OR recommend whatever they feel best..BUT jawi still has to make a decision and no matter what any doc says she does not want to lose her earned benefits..so she is pretty much stuck..unless her employer show some sympathy

Actually it appears as long as I come into work...they have to accommodate the doctor's orders...so I'm going to tell him what they have been doing to me and see if he will use his authority to get me back on the day shift because of my medications and limited range of motion in my neck.

(F) You have been and will continue to be in my prayers. God bless!

You are in mine as well...very much so. A's youngest daughter needs heart surgery too. She is waiting on a long list for Doctors without Borders.

i thought facebook was played out...just like myspace

twitter is where di ballers at...

I'm hooked on facebook.

For whomever asked for some good news.....

I got new clothes bought for me and went swimming nearly all weekend. Today at lunch, I got flowers.

Day is still early, though!

You work it lady! You deserve this.

Jawi, I'm so sorry to read about your work trouble. I don't blame you for crying all weekend. That has to be about the most frustrating situation ever for you! My continued prayers go out to you & my other yardie friends going through tough times here.

And to comment on what you said about me calling mister 'boy', dully noted. I appreciate you pointing it out as well that it could be sensitive to some. He & I call eachother 'boy' & 'girl'....it's how our relationship is. If I do something he likes, he'll say to me, "Good girl!" & vice versa. I am by no means a 'girl' anymore & in my eyes, he is every bit the man my own father is (better actually in my opinion) but it's a term of endearment for eachother. No disrespect intended in any way.

Oh okay...I understand...still gets under my skin...but I truly understand the context now. That's why I love ya...you don't get upset about people expressing their opinions or clarifying your point.

I love interacting with each of you.

I know Im fairly new to this group but it sounds like we ALL need a group prayer. Im not super religious but I do believe in a higher power (spirituality).

Dear Heavenly Father:

Please pray for our "Yardie" group as we are all going through some trial or tribulaton. Please protect us and guide us in a way that you see fit. We pray for the sick and those who are caretakers of the sick. Bless and protect all of our children and significant others and help us to have a smooth journey at this time in our lives.

In Jesus name I ask this of you....AMEN!

amen

Yes my sisters....Amen.

Me too, times so tough....thought i'd be long married and supported in my older age by now, instead wading thru this visa process as well as full on work is aging me fast, so much stress, worry, trying to support so many on both sides of the airport, and health issues.......oh Lord, we missed our interview due to my man being hospitalized in Mo Bay (god, i pray for all that enter the Cornwall hospital!)..and TOMORROW..he now gets his second chance. Please note that is 3 months later! Thank you Jah for his health, despite the unknown blood he was given. So, i'm praying with all you for my own dream to become a reality......my case must be one of the longest on history! but Tomorrow, Jah Guide and bring him home! I can't be there this time, no money left no vacation time left...too much responsibility at my job and you know if i don't keep up someone will take it for less money. so i persevere....and he is well prepared, as long as the medical is good (?) and the police record that was expunged is accepted...he's so ready..So, i'm praying long this night and will think of you all and your beautiful stories (that i can barely keep up with but love to know that you are out there...sisters) and i'm so grateful to all that share their lessons and struggles ...and support. Blessings, culture1
