i'd be pacing around the place...smoking cigarettes and shyt (and i doan even smoke)...calling up everybody

That's about what I am doing - I have been outside every few minutes - I know his brother is working on getting him moved, and I am trying to be patient and not call him - but it's killing me -

Sus are you still at work?

Afternoon Yardies!

Wow! The way I woke up feeling this morning, it's like I felt it ahead of time that it was going to be this kind of day for everyone. Anyway....

Take-away Tips
  • Offer little info about the questionable item you're bringing
  • Ask lots of questions about the process, so the person can display their knowledge
  • Talk about random stuff

That kind of works for me too! Distract them with kindness.

What are your feelings about seeking revenge?

I ENJOY planning it & imagining it. But I never execute the plans....it makes me feel better just thinking about what I would do & then try my best to let it go.

I have to clean the house from top to bottom as soon as my quest them leave on Sunday. There's also a big breakfast the day after the wedding for the family. Lord help me guide my MOUTH!

 Yeah, we see how that turned out!:luv:

Feeling FUSTRATED and OVERWHELMED going for a walk. I don't want to hear anymore bad news today.

oh my gosh..was it flavored ####### at least LOL i just ate a mini hersheys which is not good since i just found out i am 5lbs heavier!!! i was holding up the same weight for years now ie go up!!! FORGET THIS MAN, i guess dancing 3 nights a week really made a difference, now mi nuh dance but 3 times a mnth :crying::crying: i need some physical activity.. and the jooking nuh count finesse.. HELL i do that everyday and mi rass still growing UGHHHH...im gonna get my rass in gear.. after i hit up the barbeq joint

 Sounds like something I'd say/do!

why is it when dem know seh you a get ready fi go pon vacation everything becomes dyam RASS URGENT!...dem know from April seh mi ago deh pon vacation for a month, now the sh*t is hitting the fan...mi tell dem TOOOOOOOOO bad...thank God my boss is backing me

GOOD! That seems to be how it always goes for my job too. At that point, they can just wait till I get back.

See... this would NOT have brought me happiness. I only like my sleep interrupted for emergencies and ___.

I don't even like my sleep interrupted for ____!

Oh guess what...They weren't quarters!!!!!!!!!!! It was pure nickels and dimes.....I fell out of the kitchen table chair last night when he gave me the plastic bag full.:rofl:

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Too funny!

oo..and I still refuse to put a TV in the bedrooms..is that bad? i really only want to be in the bedroom if i have to...still debating bout the girls room to..

Go Damien..shooot..can i tell all who does not have an ING acct to get one!

I don't like TV in the bedrooms either. Too much distraction & especially not for the kids. I have a friend who used the TV as a babysitter in her daughter's room while she was in the crib. I did not agree with that at all.

hope he did im house chores first...

im did! He packed the dutty clothes to go to my parents' house this weekend & did the dishes & packed a lot of our weekend bag. He's a good boy!

Ells...I thought I would never see you type those words. They just PISS me off whenever I see them. Did you agree to marry a boy...a dog...or a man? I know you have a right to type whatever you want to...but that is a pet peeve for me. I just don't agree with calling a grown man a boy. I see a lot of you do this...and I just don't get it. Why can't it be that he is a good guy? I'm not trying to start anything...just couldn't hold it in today. I wonder if some of you decide to use boy because he is younger than you...or less educated...or you really don't understand the negative history of that word with Black men. Still love you like cook food Ells...but it grated on me today.

Jawi (F) (F) (F) Sorry to hear about the demotion, I am just worried about your health. How are you feeling throughout the day, that is a long work day for someone who is not fully recovered. How is the commute? Sigh.........

Hey Philly it wasn't really a demotion...although I'm calling it that. I worked with a more specialized group of employees that had a higher job title/description and salary band. But, I'm still a supervisor...just with more needy employees now.

I have to have the doctor fill out a workplace accommodation for Human Resources...so I'm going to ask him to state that I need daytime hours because of my medications...I don't mind the off days. The HR manager told me that they have to honor whatever accommodations the doctor recommends. I fell asleep on the highway Friday because I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours (even leaving at 3 PM) ...I almost caused a huge accident. Then, I drove off the road near my home because I couldn't stay awake. I woke up when I heard the car rolling over tree branches and rocks. I cried because it was so scary and I feel so helpless. Actually, I have been crying all weekend.

I have to go back and keep catching up.

Jawi, I'm so sorry to read about your work trouble. I don't blame you for crying all weekend. That has to be about the most frustrating situation ever for you! My continued prayers go out to you & my other yardie friends going through tough times here.

And to comment on what you said about me calling mister 'boy', dully noted. I appreciate you pointing it out as well that it could be sensitive to some. He & I call eachother 'boy' & 'girl'....it's how our relationship is. If I do something he likes, he'll say to me, "Good girl!" & vice versa. I am by no means a 'girl' anymore & in my eyes, he is every bit the man my own father is (better actually in my opinion) but it's a term of endearment for eachother. No disrespect intended in any way.

Bunz, I didn't know that the guest judge was one of Bob Marley's children's mother. Do you know which of his kids she had?

I'm not even gonna get started on my opinion of him & all the women he had children with...

Me either.... :no::no:

It's not about Ells being White...or this being a racist thing. I just think it doesn't reflect respect to call your man a boy. I mean you decided to marry him...so he has to be a man. I think this word is easy to use when the man is younger...but I know that A gets highly offended when someone calls him a boy. He will quickly correct them and say that he doesn't see a boy standing there. Like I said this is not about Ells...I just want to understand why it is so easy to call a man a boy Black...White...Jamaican or Chinese. This is the reason I have never called A my boyfriend...he has always been my man.

I understand how the term 'boy' can be misconstrued, but I really can't see Ellseven being conscious of the way she used it as having negative connotations.....to me she used it in a playful joking manner. I think sometimes we have to be careful about being over sensitive. By all means, point it out, just in case she used it thst way in conversation and someone became offended. I think to be honest, it is a thing with black Americans more than Jamaicans. "Boy' can be used as a diss, but more in terms of referring to age or respect than in a racial context which Jamaicans don't associate with the word.

I am sensitive to how the word is used. The sentence "he is a good boy" made me think she was patting him on the head for finally doing something right that she approved of. I really thought more of her praising a puppy with this statement.

I took it the same way you did (the patting on the head like a puppy), but in a joking way with no negative intent.

As far as people being offended by what someone else calls them, it varies by individual. For example, I call my mother by her first name. She has no problem with it and does not see it as disrespectful. My father, on the other hand, did NOT appreciate that one time I accidentally called him by his first name. Similarly, one person (A) may be offended by "boy," but the next person may not care at all. Same with the n word. I do not want ANYONE calling me that, and I have and will never call anyone else that. But some people don't care.

I agree with what JaE said: it's good to let people know what may or may not be offensive to others, so that they know to be careful when talking to unfamiliar people. So it's good that you informed/reminded all of us that "boy" may be offensive to some, so that we don't go around calling people "boy" when we don't know how they feel about the term.

DJ's in the hospital, JG - Bleeding ulcer - I am having a hard time getting a lot of info, but he's not doing well, he's lost a lot of blood -

Aww Sus this sucks!! I'm really praying for everyone & DJ especially right now. It seems like things have been really stressful for you lately & this does not help one bit. I hope you hear some good news about how he's improving pronto! (F)(L)

A co worker and myself lost our jobs today... they say they are downsizing.... such is life

The funny thing is that we both just got back off of maternity leave in March.

It will give me the push I need to move out of state anyways so I just look at it as a blessing

Damn Niecy! This really sucks too! I hope this isn't going to be too tough considering you have a new baby to care for & all. But it's great you can look at the positive & see it as your door closing so that another one opens....a better & brighter one for you! It's true (I have to remind myself this all the time), God/Creator/Universe will provide.
