You wouldn't get fined if you declare it. Worst case is that they'll not let you bring it in.

On the CBP form you fill out on the plane, it does say that you can't bring fruit & vegetables. But on the monitors talking about customs & what you can/can't bring (this played while in the first long line after you get off the plane), they say that some fruits & vegetables are permitted. You just have to declare it and they'll inspect them for bugs.

Nat the only time I know they let you bring friuts and vegetables is if it's cooked or bottled in syrup. Like sugarcane has to be pelled with no bumps showing. I know you have to declare it (but) not all officers will let you off that easy, espcially if you're a frequent traveller. I bring up breadfuit all the time. I've seen them take pork (don't ask) from people and some other cooked meats. They've never taken fish from me

it is all about the customs officer....they gave me a HARD time about a couple likkle cans of Jerk Vienna Sausages!!! Had to look it up in a book...pure drama...then I forgot and put the tins of ackee in my carry on and they kept those in Atlanta..ALL THREE!!!(supposedly cause of the water in the tin!!) yall know I was truly hot as fish grease!!!!! They cut open every bag of porrage I had...PACKAGED PORRAGE!! but didn't mess with my brown sugar???? and yall know how that is packaged! I bring scotch bonnets in my purse every time mainly cause they always get handed to me when leaving...no problem. Go figure???

anybody know about dentist is jamaica? like would the cost of getting something done there be comparable to here?

Depends what parish you are in...and probably who you go to...Michael went to one in Port Antonio and they pulled a tooth out an told him to get some anbesol..(I sent him back and told him to get some meds!!)..Mi fren in Hopewell went for similar ting...he came home with prescription pain meds and antibiotics with no issues/problems cost was half what Michael paid...

Their is a cream based antibiotic and an eye drop, get the cream one it works better and clears it up faster than the drops. I haven't had it as an adult but I use it on my kids when they get it.
