Okay, I finally made it to the "Yardie" thread!!! *Waiving hiiiiiiiiiiiii* to everyone!

About time! Welcome.

Ells, Sus, explain to me why you like the "I Hate Sandcastles" picture. Is there something I'm missing in it?

I like the picture because of the look on the baby's face & the little clenched fist full of sand. It's such an adult look but I'm sure the intention is different. Although you can see the other crying baby with the destroyed castle in the background even though it's fuzzy. The caption is funny since it's probably irrelevant to the actual picture....I dunno, can't explain very well but it just makes me laugh!

Oh!!! I didn't realize that he'd destroyed the sand castle in the back. It makes more sense now.

I love eggplant parmesan and vegetarian lasagna. My mother didn't make them growing up, though, cause no one else in the house had my sophisticated palate.

i guess i dont either..don't like eggplant texture...

Quana, you asked me what I meant by "it brings back memories"... but I don't remember what I was talking about, so no answer.

Tre: "...heading to my flexibility class/bruck up class...made sure I didn't eat anything that would give me gas this time, last week was a disaster"

I laughed A LOT at the visual of your classmates' faces when you did this. One of the most humiliating experiences of my life... I was in 6th grade and it was "Field Day" where we did tons of field events (running, obstacle course, etc) and won prizes. Well, I was doing the sit-ups challenge. One classmate (male) knelt on my feet while I had to do as many as possible in 1 minute. Unfortunately, every single time I came up, some air came out. He was laughing the whole time, while I felt SOOO embarrassed.

Finesse: Re: your "friend" asking for bail money for abusive husband... Wow. She had some nerve for asking you that!

KK: Thanks for the $500k/greencard story. Interesting read.

Dillon, without a microwave, how do you heat up leftovers? Pop popcorn?

Ells, I'm with you on the giving to homeless. I gave money previously, then changed to giving food. But now I feel like I donate enough to organizations that provide assistance to people. There is this one woman, though, who is consistently begging around the corner from my apt complex. I wonder what her story is.

Quana! I'm with Ells; shame on you for littering!

the same way our parents did....on the stove.

Speaking of stereotypes...

I went home for lunch and there was a middle-aged, disheveled man sitting on the ground under some shade. He was back in the resident parking area, but not sitting by any apartment. When I left, he was still sitting there. I thought about calling the leasing office to see if they know why a man would be just chillin in the resident parking area, but didn't want to seem judgmental. He might've been someone doing construction back there, maybe waiting for the rest of the crew to return from lunch.

ROFL! 'DOH' is what I picked up from watching the Simpsons. Homer always says that when something goes wrong or if someone says something that surprises him. I use it when someone says something surprising!:lol:

I love Steven so much for a zillion reasons.

One thing he did that made me cry this trip:

We went to KFC after he picked me up from the airport Sunday. I wasn't too hungry, so I told him "I'll just take a bite of yours." #1) He was okay with that (don't let me talk about my other male friends & their obsession with not sharing their food). He got a meal that had a leg, wing, thigh, & fries (knowing good & well he doesn't eat that much food). I said "Which piece of chicken do you like least? I'll take a bite of that one." The question seemed to upset him, but I didn't understand why. I said "Okay. I know you're not a leg fan, so I'll take a bite of that." He was like "Don't take the one I like the least. You can have the best of whatever I have!" It was precious cause it seemed that I upset him by even making that suggestion.
