I spoke to the DoS this morning and when I mentioned that the embassy mailed Packet 3 on 7/20, but my fiance hasn't received it yet, she gave me some interesting info:

The "mail" date is really the "prepared for mailing" date. All federal mail goes to a mail room for double-checking. So even though they say it was mailed on a particular date, it may not actually leave for up to a week after that date. I hadn't heard that before, but it could explain why mail can take so long.

Also, the embassy hasn't processed our DS-230 yet. I scanned the signed copy as they recommended last week & emailed that yesterday. Hopefully they'll respond by tomorrow..

I still have almost 3 weeks coming to me which I must use before the end of the year....and still have no plans

Can I have it?? I'm almost out of vacation, thanks to the 4 trips to Jamaica so far this year.

The first time I bought guinep, Steven lectured me on not tasting one first to make sure it's a good batch (fortunately, it was). Now I know! Had I known it would be so easy to get through customs (story coming later today), I'd have brought back a lot more. I think it's a great snack cause you spent a lot of time on each one.

KK its a fruit that grows on a tree that has a tough outer layer and juicy seeded middle ha thats the best way I can describe it. It's sweet and sour at the same time IMO

I was just saying that yesterday I have to use a week at my TS before September or pay to extend it but really not sure what we are going to do yet......I have no idea where I want to go either, but with my family drama I really need to stay put sooooo who knows! I am a hot mess right now

I love Steven so much for a zillion reasons.

One thing he did that made me cry this trip:

We went to KFC after he picked me up from the airport Sunday. I wasn't too hungry, so I told him "I'll just take a bite of yours." #1) He was okay with that (don't let me talk about my other male friends & their obsession with not sharing their food). He got a meal that had a leg, wing, thigh, & fries (knowing good & well he doesn't eat that much food). I said "Which piece of chicken do you like least? I'll take a bite of that one." The question seemed to upset him, but I didn't understand why. I said "Okay. I know you're not a leg fan, so I'll take a bite of that." He was like "Don't take the one I like the least. You can have the best of whatever I have!" It was precious cause it seemed that I upset him by even making that suggestion.

Hey Finesse,

Well he is still between my cousin's and my Mom's house but she assures me he will be coming home soon. We have spoken on the phone several times and it has been cordial so we will talk out the situation before he comes home. I am hoping that he can stay for a few more weeks LOL and return before school starts. I need a break!

LOL mY cousin doesn't have children so she loves having them around even though they are a pain LOL but she is not slick she uses them for manual labor too haaaa. At least she pays well so they love it, getting 20$ to sweep the steps and walk the dog around the block and foolnish like that, I need to go over there and pick up some extra cash

I am so blessed..every person(friends from work) i know has had some kind of anxiety..takin pills for it and depression..i never knew ABOUT all these drugs until i worked with these ladies..love them..but i find them soo weak...forgive if i sound ignorant..but a just mi feelings...

I'm an 'office technician' for the State of CA....it's a very general term for someone who does a little of everything. HR duties, fiscal stuff like making sure vendors get paid & blah blah, reception (sort of) & taking calls from the 'tenants' (state workers in the office building) who complain about everything. Our unit is the bldg management who maintains the building.....I dispatch everything to the stationary engineers, electricians, custodians, blah blah blah. It's ever so exciting & challenging.

this guys was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic (there was alot of traffic cause if construction ) he hit one car then kept moving cut across 2 lanes of traffic and shoved the car my brother was in under a flatbed wrecker truck ... they had to cut my brother out of the car and air life him to norfolk general they took him straight to the O.R. because of all the damage he went into cardiac arrest twice the second time her couldnt revive him

I see those drivers all the time and then we get to a stop light and I'm next to them. It's like you do all that weaving and don't really get anywhere fasters. It's so dangerous.

I'm a speedy driver but not like that. When those people who 'beat me to the light' see me right next to them, I usually like to look at them & smile real big!
