Oh yeah - I didn't order the vegan sandwich but it was made out of veggies and soy protein (kalebone). I had vegan tacos which I like and my daugther got a tofu bbq sub which was good. But I LOVE meat.

My daughter was born in the wrong decade...she is a hippie at heart. Told us we had to get rid of our microwave....she is nuts

I didn't have a microwave for a few weeks when I first moved in to my house. Never realized how much you depend on one of those till you don't have it.

I don't have one and don't want one...hubby and daughter are about to revolt and go get one. I just do not like them.

hubby knows this guys who he knew from ja (not a friend but they know a lot of the same pple)who now lives here with his wife about an hour from us. the dude has been here almost 3 years, has no job, and just runs the streets and smokes weed.

when i first heard about this guy i thought oh great someone for hubby to connect with from ja we should meet up. so dude and wife came over for the first time like 6 months ago or so. immediately my spirit did not take them but i felt a little sorry for them. they hung out for a while and wifey confided in me and told me that he beats her and wanted my husband to talk to her husband about it.

i told her to dump him, he is not gonna change. she continues to be with him and they have all these problems and he keeps taking off on her. she calls us because she thinks he is hiding out at our house (which he isn't and we never even talk to him).

so 2 weeks ago she calls me to tell me he is in jail for beating her up and his bail is $1,600 and she only has $600 and can she borrow $1000 from me. i say hell no and let his azz sit in jail and i tell her one day he is gonna kill you.

remember, i don't even know this woman other than her coming over one time and her calling us for help. i feel bad for being mean to her but what else am i supposed to say/do?

What state you live in Finesse? Cause this sounds hauntingly familiar to someone I met about 3 years ago, here, in St. Louis. They were from Illinois.

I'm with you on this. Stay out of it is what I would do. Too much drama.

nothing but pray girl.. she will not get out, she is not ready yet.. and u are not wrong for not feeding into that madness.. maybe she won't get the money and get some help while he sits in jail, maybe she will scavenge for it, sell all she got and get him out and continue the cycle.. but don't feel bad for not giving her that money.. how in the HECK is she gonna ask u for $1000 and this man is in jail for beating her???

its soo upsetting.. i know someone the same situation.. well her bf don't beat her, but is insanely jealous and refuses to let her talk, commune, w/ anyone else unless he is w/ her.. at my sisters wedding meeting.. it was all women and he is the only nut sitting ther cuz she can' go by herself!.. one day she is complaining and the next day she say the good outweigh the bad..i used to say.. get rid of him.. now i just listen.. she not ready..

this morning she was complaining.. he is mad cuz she have a retreat to go to w/ her job.. she already appeasing him by not spending the night w/ the other cowrkrs and coming home every night.. thats not enough.. he don't want her to go at all

Exactly what you told her, she is not your responsibility you tried to help her previously by advising her about the abuse and she chose to stay! From the history she shared she knows exactly what kind of Man he is and the behavior didn't start yesterday!!! Don't enable her that is what she is looking for and people have probably been doing that all along. Poor thang wants help to bail him out of jail so he can come beat her @ss some more for getting him locked up in the 1st place, REAL GENIUS! She has to stand up for herself and say Enough, until that time no one can help her........

That makes me think of a question tho finesse...

If a beneficiary goes to jail is that considered being a public charge?

From what I understand, it is only SSI benefits that do. Saw it somewhere on here.

If he goes to jail, for beating her, he is most likely being deported when he gets out.

i don't know. so what could happen then? not sure of his immigration status.....i think he has his 10 year gc or is about to do LOC

If he is LOC, he will most likely sneak though. They are very slow at actually taking chargs to court. If he were to have his GC, he is probably lucky for the next 9 or so years. Renewing could pose a problem. He may also have issues with citizenship if he tries. Seriously, though......if charges strong enough and jail time stiff enough, he could be deported. It would have to be fairly serious though.
