So how was everyone's weekend?? Looks like some of you had a pretty good one!

I finally proved myself Saturday morning after getting to sleep in a little (YAY!) by making us omelets for breakfast. He was asking why I wasn't making him two & halfway through his he couldn't even finish. HA HA! Then we took the scenic route to the waterfront that goes along the coast of SF until you reach the Golden Gate bridge. We drove under the bridge, through the throngs of tourists & on to the Fishermen's Wharf area where we were BLESSED with a parking spot after minimal driving around & didn't have to pay $20-30 for the day! Thank you God! We went to Pier 39 & he saw Sea Lions for the first time, got his butt kicked by me in air hockey at the arcade, saw a WWII submarine & ship at one of the docks, played mechanical games from the early 1900's at the Musee Mechanique including his first pinball game (not early 1900s) & 'mini' bowling game where he got two strikes (guess we'll have to try the real thing now). Then we had a nice dinner at a seafood restaurant on Fishermen's Wharf where he had his first clam chowder (which he doesn't think is as good as conch soup of course) & ate the insides of the sourdough 'table' bread & left me the crusts (thanks a lot buddy!). From there we walked to one of two spots they'd be firing off the fireworks & found a place to put our chairs & wait for a couple hours till the show started. There was a live band playing retro tunes & when the show started it was a DJ medley of American tunes with the Star Spangled Banner for the finale. This of course was also his first time seeing fireworks (other than on TV) & it was cool that they had dual shows & you could look down to the other location closer to Pier 39 & see the same thing happening. It was cold when the fog was blowing in & we weren't sure we were gonna make it (next time bringing more layers & a blanket) but once it settled it got a little warmer to where you could bear it. I don't think my poor honey has ever had such cold limbs in his life. It was a good show though & he was so happy that he saw it & was thanking God & me for the whole day! :luv:

Yesterday we lounged some more, I made breakfast again (no omelet this morning) & then got ready to go to the zoo since I've been promising & we've been watching a lot of animal shows on TV. I'm a big old dork & I think he gets embarrassed when I gush over a baby giraffe or something until he saw that other women there were doing it too. We also saw a baby gorilla in the exhibit & that was pretty special. They'd move around their enclosure & when it was time to go to another spot the momma would grab the baby by one arm & swing it around until it grasped onto her back. It was VERY cute! We also saw baby monkeys & tiny monkeys & kangaroos & grizzly bears & polar bears & rhinos & anteaters & everything else. I wasn't sure we'd have enough time to see everything but after walking around all day the day before & 3 hours at the zoo, we'd seen everything there was to see & we were beat! Of course, then we went to the park where he saw some people playing a soccer game & still had energy to play with them for a half hour. Came home, made dinner & reflected on a fun weekend.

Now I'm at work & don't want to be....but at least I'm taking a furlough day tomorrow & some friends are coming in to town so we can hang out tomorrow before they go see the Giants game.

Awwe Ells sounds like you had a wonderful weekend LOL @ the baby animals!

Finding good parking in SF on the 4th of July is PRICELESS!

I am so happy to hear about the adventures of L's in Love ;)

I can picture that drive up the coast to the Golden Gate

Wish I could see the childlike wonder on his face :D Yes, take pictures next time!!

And believe me, I will not abandon ya'll when my honey gets here

Funny story from this AM

He got this phone about a month ago and the phone is a piece of JUNK  it cuts out, static, I can't hear, he can't hear... it's a Hot Mess as Philly would say

Well, this morning I was having a hard time hearing and he was shouting and he says "people just going to have to get used to me shouting" which is funny in itself cause he is so shy and soft spoken...

The next thing he says kind of echo's and he tells me he has a bucket over his head so I can hear him with out shouting

Sorry, I love the man more than anything in this world but I can't stop lafff picturing him sitting there with a bucket over his head one hand in it holding the phone

:luv:

This is too cute! why can't I find a smiley with a bucket over his head

Ells, glad you posted your weekend story with Lehi. I read it, smiling. It must be awesome to have your love with you to do stuff with & to show him your neck of the woods.

Philly, I can't even watch animals mating. I feel like I'm invading their privacy.

Really enjoying Jamaica, the baby is having a BatecrashingALL!!

Husband is making me so happy I married him attending to both me and the baby, just walking around with a cheesy smile on my face all the time lol!

GATECRASHED a wedding lol, just walked up with my camera and nicely told them I was taking pics. The 'official' photographer was USELESS, so just pushed him to the side and took over the proceedings.

Rain started almost the SECOND the ceremony was over, got just ONE formal beach pic before the downpour...May have to do a bit more gatecrashing...grrrrr

:ot: OK my parents 31 st wedding anniversary is the 15 th and i have no idea what to get them any ideas

What about tickets to a show or something that they wouldn't ordinarily do for themselves

yeah but nothing is happeneing here that my parents would want to go to ...

I think i may do a scrapbook for them ... showing from their wedding day and the years in between..

...or you could also make them a calender of all their favorite memories, kids, grandkids, etc. Any copy/print shop can put this together for you. The calender can begin in July 2009, never too late.

THANKS THATS A GOOD IDEAS ALSO
