they treat Jamaicans like $hit because they know they won't get the same "warm" treatment (money, connections to go a farrin, etc)

so there is no benefit to being nice to jamaicans

I remember when I went to Jamaica I could not utter a word when we were at the shops cuz they knew how to rip off forieners, my hubby did all the talking. They did treat my hubby different than me!

Damien just called El Greco to get a room rate and they quoated him $97. I called back 2 minutes later and they quote me $130  That's a big difference.

Congrats Justuica.

yep.. whenever my friends go they get a jamaican to buy everything.. roger was our resident when we went to dunns river falls, they wanted the pay in ja's instead or us so he found SOMEBODY to change our money.. LOL

I stay at El Greco all the time. $97 is about what I pay booking online but they do have different prices for JA vs US posted in the lobby.

I have stayed at Sunset Beach in Mobay and Grand Pineapple in Negril. Once on the resort we didn’t have much of the attitude problem at Sunset Beach because once you are away from the front lobby there’s not much need for encounters with management or security. The staff was fairly nice, kept to themselves unless you engaged them. We even went out to party with a couple of them so no attitudes there. Then at Grand Pineapple, I got one question from security when we first arrived to confirm that he was a registered guest but she was very nice about it and we didn’t have any more hassles.

i have a friend that comes on a work visa i thought tho.. he pays like $2000 and is able to come work for this hotel.. but there has to be work available.. and ive heard the work visas have been cut dramatically..

yeah they have my fiance used to come on those ..him and the rest of the guys he came with before didnt get them this year

See that’s what I thought, you could get a work visa but there had to be work and you also had to have a letter from the employer confirming, still a process…nothing as simple as she put it. And then too I thought from what I saw with the B1-B2 visas it didn’t cost that much and all in one drop.

Thanks all for responding, like it has been said many times before if there was an easier way why would so many of us choose doing it this way. I am going to print these out and give it to her so she knows. If I just tell her she’ll think I’m hating because my SO didn’t come up with it. Risk getting banned and/or arrested for fraud...not on your life!!!

ur right, the b1/b2 is only a lil over $100 and he would have had to have an interview at the embassy.. sorry ja2's friend.. :(

I love Royal Decameron Mo Bay. Which men? Employees? When you stay, Sus?

Yes, employees - We were there last Sept - I just was shocked at how blatant some of the employees were - Even one night I was walking down the path with DJ and one security cut between us and blocked me from walking - I ripped on him, that if I am with my man - what would make you think I want to talk to you? Even if I weren't with my man - do you honestly think I would be attracted?

Raniel and Kevan still around pool?

Who is at Sumfest this year?

Thought I just heard the Jackson 5.

I heard the whole Jackson family is going to be there -

What do they have to do with Raggae again? Same way Air Supply always cracks me up for Jazz & Blues.

lol.. jg.. u are crazy..

its international night so i guess he have just as much to do w/ it as neyo LOL.. oh i hope neyo sing some mj songs.. he covers them SOOOOO well..

I had leftovers from last night: chiptle lime chicken breast stir-fried with peppers & onion. Sauteed spinach on the side & rosemary bread. All ingredients from Central Market, my absolute all-time favorite grocery store.

If I were eating out, I'd have enjoyed panera or pei wei or Thai food... LOVE me some Thai food.

I'm so glad it's FRIDAY!
