I almost forgot!

It's time for my SIX WEEK RECAP (and commentary)!

I spent the last 3 weeks since returning catching up on the yardies thread(s) and here it all is in condensed version.....let me take you all back to late May now!

I almost don't want to re-hash any of the bad stuff but I just want to comment on the good and bad so here goes:

Congrats Princess on the NOA1!

Honey and DaDa I was really sorry to read about what happened. You are both great, lively, fabulous women so at least you are now free (after some healing time) for that GOOD man to find you!

Wakey, your new hairstyle is really cute and you're so lucky you can rock the short look!

Roxcie, congrats on the July interview date (is it here yet??).

I was reading the convo on the term 'fluffy' and thought it was funny. I don't mind the term for myself and this last trip in JA I was called "Hey jelly gyal" by a dread on the crew filling potholes and "Hey fatty" by another dread near the roundabout in Negril. Of course, it wasn't an insult but here in the U.S. I would've had some choice words if someone called me that.

Nat, I wanted to tell you congrats about the black crop pants but don't remember why now (LOL!)....did you get back into them?....is that what it was?? I think so....so if that's the case, you go girl!

Also, I saw your SIL Tia on Rising Stars (we watched more TV this time) while I was there....I'm pretty sure we also saw her when I was there in February at the Bob Marley Tribute show at MXIII in Negril. She's really good!

Niecy, congrats on hubby being home!

I already congratulated you Jawi but while I was catching up I noticed your siggy had the line about the interview being 'approved' and was all excited.

Congrats Island on Jr.'s approval and that he'll be with you guys soon!

Okay part 2 coming.....

Just what you wanted to do....WORK on your day off. I love how parties are always planned where I end up running around like a fool before, during, and after and everyone else has fun.

Well Finesse,

I never made it outside to see Mrs Bootsy, me and my 16 year old just fought and I put him out! that is is I am done! My Husband had to literally drag me out of the room. He has to go! Be back, he is not moving fast enough!

like a physical fight? oh no!

Exactly its war up innn deh house, but he is gawn now he went to my Mom's. I told him to go to his Dad's see if he opend deh door fi him ( long kisteet)

girl, i know how tough this can be. my son has some anger management issues and he is only 12.

about a year ago, we got into an argument and he ran off to his room, slammed the door, and proceeded to mash up the whole room. he broke the lamp, alarm clock, smashed picture frames, ripped everything off the wall, threw ish out the window, screaming and all type a #######...it was MADNESS. I kicked him out and told him to go to his dad's. He wasn't gone but 1 week and he came home talking bout he's sorry and he misses me.

kids brains are not developed enough (some adults are not either) to process through their feelings and make sense of change and adjustment in their life. most of it gets built up until something small sets them off and then all hell breaks loose.

try some family counseling. i know it sounds stupid but it has really helped us. not only has my son been able to express his feelings but my husband and i have learned some new techniques on how to deal with my son and not make the situation worse. we have also learned how to diffuse a volatile situation if one may occur and how to talk about what is bothering us to prevent one from happening in the first place...

i know exactly how you are feeling... (F)(F)

Hey Finesse

thanks this is hard but you know the funny thing is I used to be a psychotherapist by training until I changed professions cause I was sick of dealing with the crazies groooansmileyf.gif. although I didn't train for family counseling we employ the same theories and schools of though for extracting information and diffusing situations. Unfortunately when its it's your own situation you forget training and emotions take over and the rest goes right on out the window!!

My # rule is you are not going to talk to me any kind of way and jump bad wid mi, and my Husband won't stand for it! who the hell do you think you are last time I checked you were the child and I was the adult! I don't care how tall you are and how husky you are I bought u in this world and you know the rest! Its a shame it had to come to this but it was only a matter of time! Talk all yuh want mi guh bust yuh raas wid deh first thing mi see. So needless to say it was not a good scene but my son was so surprised my Hubby is so strong so he wasn't even going to test him.

Then he screams you treat him like King and me like nothing, then had the nerve to say mi treat him dis way fi all him life   ! I know he was expressing his feelings but where is the validity behind it? He needs to step away from the family and truly think about his actions and how he is the one causing problems when the rest of us are trying to build a positive family structure! I mean seriouslywas I supposed to stay a NUN and sit in my house pining over his father who is a certified nut and just work and be miserable forever but as long as I have my son staring me in my face everyday when I come home its all good??? cho!

Did anyone miss me yesterday?

Spent all day out on the river. I'm sunburned and sore. Had a great day of swimming, boating, kneeboarding (oh yeah, I am hooked!), and relaxing. Wish it never ended.

Ooooh! Is that what they are calling it now?:rofl:

I want to see the fireworks and Counting Crows but I am not ready for crowds. Still debating. I might just go the FoPo college campus and park on the top level of the garage and watch the fireworks. That's what I did last year.

We are probably going to park along floodgates....we have a way through baracades. Going to be front and cetner for my baby daddy.....um, I mean Counting Crows.....if you make it down look for a large group of us on blankets there. I'll save you a seat.

I got beat up and lost hearing in an ear for a few days for protecting my SIL and I slept in a bed on King Street that was shot to hell just a week or so later.

Aww Philly I'm sorry your boys are putting you through all this! Finesse is probably right, some family counseling might help everyone learn to cope better. But I also think it's good that he stays somewhere else until everything cools down and hopefully he can appreciate what he has living with you.

Sometimes my Dad did some seriously harsh things to discipline me (like pinning me to the wall by my neck while my feet dangled) but I tell you what, I NEVER made the same mistake twice (like cutting school for 3 weeks)!! I'm not condoning actions as severe as what my Dad did but I'm saying sometimes it takes some extreme measures for it to really sink in.

Hey Ellis, oh wow but you are right it does get the point across and you knew not to cross that line again...

Hey all, we made it to Philly late last night or early this morning...
