Afternoon Yardies!

Please say a prayer for me this afternoon. My co-worker just got a frantic phone call from his Baby Mama that their 16 y/o son just got shot in a drive-by. He was shot in the stomach & I've tried to assure my co-worker that he'll be okay but I'm saying a prayer right now too. We were just talking about his son this morning & he was telling me that his kid had stopped hanging out with the bad kids & was starting to think about going to college on basketball scholarships. It is so so sad the struggles young people have to go through & just when things seem to be turning around....

Thats my fear for my son....things are soo crazy out there and trying to keep a teenage boy locked inside the house away from the mess is like trying to keep ice from melting in the sun....will keep them in my prayers

Ells...so sorry to hear about your coworker's son. This makes me think of my best friend's son that was killed earlier this year. I didn't think I would ever stop crying. My sincerest prayers that he recovers quickly.

I found out that NVC sent the petition to Kingston today. I expect it to arrive there by Wednesday. Also, I'm going to JA from July 26-29.

Knowing that, does anyone think the following is even slightly possible?

Tuesday: Steven books medical for next Monday or Tuesday

Thursday: Natalie emails embassy DS230 & requests interview date for July 28 or 29, with explanation of why.

next Monday/Tuesday: Steven has medical

July 27: Steven picks up medical results on way to Kingston

July 28 or 29: Interview (if the 29th, I'll pay to reschedule my flight back)

I'd need a LOT of things to go my way for that to happen, but I figure it's worth a shot.

Hey Nat...I honestly don't think you will get an interview in July. If all goes according to plan, you may get it for the first part of August. Here are some points of clarification:

1. The Embassy does not accept emailed copies of the DS-230, which is why I sent it via DHL 2 day service. You could do that tomorrow if you already have Stevens's signature on it. You can request the interview date in July with the cover letter I attached to my other thread, with your explanation.

2. The medical can be scheduled, but they have to know the interview date when they schedule the appointment to ensure that your results are back in time. They also need a copy of the interview letter when he shows up for the medical.

Do you think you could stay until like August 1st or so? All this not withstanding that we all know prayer changes things. Anything is possible through Christ! Pray on it, and get that DS-230 cover letter, DS-230 Part 1 and a passport picture of Steven in the mail NOW. Hit me up if you need anything.

My way took 8 days to get an interview date after the DS-230 was delivered. The traditional way takes 2-4 weeks for a date to drop the DS-230 off at the Embassy, and another 2-?? weeks to get an actual interview date.
