Time for a Christian Revolutionary War

We care because we have been programed to care by A.J

On a more serious note though, that is pretty fvcked up, to feel so vulnerable and under threat (despite being in a majority) that you want to 'wage war' on your own society to change it to become a narrow parody of itself.

What was the piece by Amby the other day, that those who are less secure in their own beliefs are more vociferous about extolling them?

Jesus *is* God.

I thought most Christians see him as the Son of God, sort of like God Jr.

Are you serious?

Jesus is *both* God and the Son of God.

He basically gave birth to himself in human form. He used the part of himself called "the Holy Spirit"

to knock up Mary.

Luke 1:35: "'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.

So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."

Christianity 101, man.

It just says 'under god' it doesn't say which god. It could refer to anything, or even nothing. It certainly doesn't say under my "Christian God that I worship and who thinks XYZ exactly in line with my views and opinions"

If there's a God, why hasn't he shown himself by now? No-one worthy of his attention since Moses?

Exodus 33:18-23 (New International Version)

18 Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."

19 And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 20 But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."

21 Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."

Perhaps that's why we don't see much of him anymore? His action of creating his own son who was also himself via his other self and a 3rd party (incidentally someone else's wife) caused the omnipotent one to disappear up his own rectum in a puff of illogic?

Not exactly how I'd describe it, but you are close. The 'one God in three persons' is actually after crucifixion and ascension...of course, you'll probably just mock that now, but w/e.

This is the belief of Pentecostal UPCI 101. Most sects of Christianity believe in the Trinity.

I say let them work this out before imposing anything on anyone else. With all these different factions and branches of Christianity each having their own interpretation of what actually happened and each claiming to own the absolute truth, I'd say that'll buy us another one to two thousand years easily before any consensus emerges that can then be imposed on everyone.

Just like the many things in the bible the entire quote is a contradiction in itself... How the fuk can anyone call themselves a christian and then claim "christian revolutionary war" isn't that just like the other half wits that engage in "wars"? Another bunch of eejits killing each other for "god" because of course "god" wants us all to kill each other? Patrick Vandenburgh deserves a good firm beating then deported to China!.. See how born again he'd be over there

This is along the lines of what I was thinking after reading that -- Haven't we learned how awful life can be when people are waging religious wars through your neighborhood?! Why would we want to start that!!

It is time for a new Christian revolutionary war. It is time for Christians all over the United States to stand up for our Judeo-Christian heritage. Our nation has slowly turned its back on God. We have forsaken our call as a nation, which is to be a light to all other nations. We have allowed a few in the secular minority to rob our freedoms, which came by the blood of many brave men and women throughout history.

Recently, on a trip to the Middle East, President Barak Obama stated we are no longer a Christian nation, but rather a nation of citizens. I respectfully disagree with our new president. We are and will always be a Christian nation that serves Jesus Christ and His kingdom. Our president may speak authoritatively for the executive branch of our government, and may have been politically motivated in his statements. However, he did not speak authoritatively for God or for the millions of born-again Christians still residing in this great country.

The true church of Jesus Christ must arise in this desperate hour and storm heaven with our prayers. We must not relent until our Christian heritage is established again in every aspect of society. Jesus declared in John 8:36, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our spiritual freedom. He died and rose again in order that all who come to Him could live a life free from spiritual oppression.

The United States of America is still the greatest country in the world. However, our nation is in a battle of major proportions for its soul. We cannot allow the secular humanists, the religious liberals or the immoral of society speak on behalf of our nation. It is time that the church of Jesus Christ find its revolutionary voice, and proclaim to everyone who will listen, that this nation is and will always be “one nation under God.”

Patrick Vandenburgh is pastor of The Father’s House Church in Lena. He can be reached at (815) 990-0367 or e-mail him at pvsaved33@yahoo.com.

I don't see how his being one more thing (the Holy Spirit) contradicts what I said about his being both God and the Son of God.

The whole thing is absurd of course, if one tries to interpret it literally, as is much of what is written in the bible.

Yeah, but your mileage may vary depending on your view of Christianity.

"Christians predominantly believe that Jesus is the "Son of God" (generally meaning that he is God the Son, the second person in the Trinity), who came to provide salvation and reconciliation with God by his death for their sins. Other Christian beliefs include Jesus' virgin birth, performance of miracles, ascension into Heaven, and a future Second Coming. While the doctrine of the Trinity is widely accepted by Christians, a minority instead hold nontrinitarian beliefs concerning the divinity of Jesus."
